FROM THE CHAIRMAN'S DESK:
Open letter to Mt.Kenya Members of Parliament.
Hope this letter finds you well and in health, as I write to you I'm doing so not as your master but as a hubble servant.Forgive me for troubling your minds in a busy period in the middle of the year, I'm doing so only because I have a piece of advice which I feel I need to share with you.
Ritwa riakwa ni Irungu wa Kaara Mugathigia wa mbari ya maingi, Marika meri ma wathani Ndi wa Mwangi Maina akiaria ndiaragia niundu ni awa.
As public participation on financial bill 2024/2025 continues to elicit mixed reactions one thing coming out clearly is that the Bill if passed in current form it would lead to collapse of many businesses and costs of living will sky locket.
My attention has been drawn by the fact that as the representative you are supposed breakdown the proposed taxes through out reach to explain to Wanjiku the implications.
This government was elected on platform of bottom up,as we speak the purshasing power of Wanjiku is deteriorating every single day, many families are struggling to put food on the table, the health care has collapsed, schools capitation is a night mire schools managements are operating on debts, the last time our counties received their allocations was March three months ago, CBC is in limbo, the big question is where is all the money collected by the K.R.A. going.
It seems fear has been instilled in you because one would expect you to use the same energy you use when disbursement of NGCDF is delayed, only Hon.Wamuchomba has decided to take the bull by the horns, clearly most of the issues she points out need to be addressed as a matter of urgency she can't do it alone, you have to wake up from your big slumbers and smell the coffee.
Now Deputy President His Excellency Rigathi Gachagua has asked for the equitable sharing of resources, which has rubbed many people wrong way, surprisingly most of the people who are throwing jabs to his Excellency are from mountain, even the young man has no respect to our DP he used floor of the house to make unsubstantiated remarks against our DP and referred him as villager if you have problem with DPs office please respect his age period.
If my memory serve me well the D.P.has been consistent from the day he was sworn in, he never shy away from articulating the welfare of the mountain, remember the issue of shareholders.None of those who are calling him tribal raised their voice why now.
One man one shilling will not die down just by trying to intimidate the DP every one from the mountain must stand up to be counted. The speaker of National Parliament Hon Mose Wetangula had a meeting with over 60 MCAs and other opinion leaders to discuss the unity of western region, nobody has called him tribal, our DP has not even attempted to call a meeting already he is been accused of tribalism.
In conclusion I beseech you when the financial bill comes to the floor of the house please make ammendments as per recommendations of various groups and individuals,I'm well aware you being invited on Monday to state house to be whipped to vote in certain direction my advice to you honorable members resist and remember we are counting on you we are watching you as well.
