Our inability to understand one another across generations and our preconceived biases are having an impact on how well we communicate with one another at all levels. 60% of survey respondents who are 35 years of age or younger, describe their current experiences at work as ones of blame, nepotism, tolerated corruption, oppression, and harassment. They also describe their leaders as unteachable, putting them in silos with little transparency regarding the organization's direction. Along with the fear of speaking up or offering ideas, complaints of comments being disregarded also appear.

The Gen Z workforce, which spans the ages of 18 to 25, places a high value on employee empowerment. They want to move away from micromanagement, forced compliance, imposed decisions, and undervalued teams, and towards a culture of delegation and team awareness.

We are thrilled to be able to provide our findings on the state of organisational culture in East Africa today.
The study offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear from employees about what truly important in order to develop environments that help people feel fulfilled, learn, and grow.

It is an opportunity for businesses to learn about viewpoints that will help them determine the right order of importance for culture projects in 2024 and beyond. The reports build on what we learned from our 'In Covid' culture study in 2020 and the significant cultural shifts that occurred at that time.

If you want to attend one of our report sessions or schedule one for your team, please register your interest and give your contact information by sending an email to [email protected].
