𝐀 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 🏡🌲
We recently had the opportunity to carry out a comprehensive as-built survey of a secluded residential property in Karen, an estate with no existing site drawings, dense vegetation, and two buildings dating back to the early 2000s.
To capture the full complexity of the site, we deployed a multi-sensor mapping workflow:

📍 𝐃𝐉𝐈 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 300 𝐑𝐓𝐊 + 𝐙𝐞𝐧𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐋1 𝐋𝐢𝐃𝐀𝐑 for aerial mapping of the roof structures, visible terrain, and tree canopies
📍 𝐋𝐞𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐓𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 to map the exact positions of tree stems hidden beneath heavy foliage
📍 𝐂𝐇𝐂𝐍𝐀𝐕 𝐑𝐒10 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐃𝐀𝐑 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 for rapid indoor scanning—capturing wall geometry, ceiling volumes, and interior details in under 30 minutes

All datasets were fused into a 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫-𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝, enabling us to generate:
✅ Topographical site plans
✅ As-built CAD drawings (plans, sections, elevations)
✅ A fully developed BIM model—a 1:1 digital twin of the buildings on site

The result? 𝐍𝐨 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐧𝐨 𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤—𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧. Even the trickiest spaces like sloped ceilings and double-volume interiors were fully documented.

Geo-Cart Surveys & Engineering Solutions, in collaboration with ARQIsolutions studios, successfully completed a detailed 3D mapping and survey project at the stunning Diamonds Leisure Beach & Golf Resort in Diani, Kenya.

We conducted both aerial and ground surveys to capture the resort’s unique integration of natural coral formations and caves, ensuring precise documentation of its as-built conditions. Our team utilized a CHCNAV RS10 Handheld SLAM Scanner, which integrates GNSS, RTK, laser scanning, and visual SLAM for high-accuracy 3D mapping, along with a DJI Matrice 300 RTK equipped with a Zenmuse L1 Sensor to generate a detailed 3D point cloud and mesh of the resort.

The result was a comprehensive 3D model of the resort, providing valuable insights for planning, management, and future development.
