Last year, you supported our 7 Days of Christmas Initiative which was held at the Kenyatta National Hospital Paediatric ward. This year, we are standing with the men, women and children who have been victims of Gender Based Violence and Sexual Assault.

We are calling it the "7 Days of Support". It will run at the Gender Violence Recovery Centre located inside the Nairobi Women's Hospital Branch in Adams from the 28th of November to the 5th of December 2014.

This year round, we need to raise the below items seeing as GVRC offers FREE medical and psychosocial support to over 250 victims monthly of such heinous crimes; 40% of those being children.

Toiletries
Toothbrushes, toothpastes, sanitary towels, panty liners, diapers (both adult and children), tissue papers, soft tissues, hand towels, combs, petroleum jelly, face towels (Toiletries are often very essential on first visits where survivors come in without anything)

Clothing items
Tshirts, pants (male, women), children clothes, sweaters/jackets, socks, marvins (for the kids), blankets, lessos/khangas, plastic sandles/slippers, disposable panties

Art Materials
Crayons, coloured pencils, drawing books, plasticine etc

School stationery
Geometric sets, pencils, rubbers, exercise books, story books, school bags, rulers etc (may be distributed during child support groups)

Consumables
Mainly foodstuffs. May be shared out during the caregivers support group

Please join us this time round and see how you can be of support to this centre and to the numerous number of survivors fighting for their lives.

Feel free to make your pledge with me whenever you're ready. Donations will be handed over on the 5th of December at the Adams Branch.

We thank you for your support towards this worthy cause and look forward to hearing from you.

Our 7 Days of Support begins today. We join InFonet Africa Ltd and the lovely team from Gender Violence Recovery Centre as they host their Survivors Day, as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against GBV.
Special thanks to my friend Udi Okore for accepting to cover this event for us and the Evolution Media team for their support. We shall share details of our day as we go along.

Good Morning.
