The consequences of sexual violence are physical, like bruising and ge***al injuries, and psychological, such as depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. The consequences may also be chronic. Victims may suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, experience re-occurring gynaecological, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular and
sexual health problems. We need to stop sexual violence by promoting social norms that protect against violence, Provide opportunities to empower and support girls and women, we also need to create a protective environment and support the victims. We have girls and women from marginalised communities that are going through sexual violence and we need to improve the safety of our mothers and sisters.
