What started with an HR community has grown.

From training to capability. From capability to performance.

The Ability HR Capability Lab — Diani Edition brought together HR and business professionals for practical conversations on learning, capability development, employability and organisational performance.

One message stood out clearly:
Learning should not begin with a training calendar or budget. It should begin with the problem that needs to be solved.

Our faculty and participants reinforced important lessons:
Start with the real problem.
Design relevant learning.
Build capability, not just attendance.
Connect learning to employability and performance.

Assoc. CIPD Joan Kago, Faculty, reflected:
“Skills development must go beyond training. It must create capability, improve employability and ultimately enable people to participate meaningfully in the world of work.”

Other participant reflections were equally practical:
