Côte d’Ivoire’s Infrastructure: A Continental Perspective

This report presents the key AICD findings for Côte d’Ivoire, allowing the country’s infrastructure situation to be benchmarked against that of its African peers. A social and economic crisis in Côte d’Ivoire has crippled its growth trajectory, which had been that of a middle-income country.

Rural Energy Strategy and Master Plan for Liberia until 2030

This document presents Liberia’s Rural Energy Strategy and Master Plan (RESMP) for the period until 2030 and aims to set clear targets, to identify least-cost projects and technologies, to propose concrete investments for funding and implementation, with appropriate institutional framework and capacity to increase energy access and renewable energies to the country’s rural areas and population – meaning all areas and population outside of greater Monrovia.

Togo Energy Sector Overview

The majority of Togo’s generation capacity comes from thermal power. Togo generates some of its own electricity, but imports the majority from Nigeria and Ghana. Togo’s first independent power producer, ContourGlobal, started commercial operations in 2010, tripling the country’s generation capacity. The Government of Togo is interested in increasing private sector investment in the power sector and attracting off-grid companies to increase access to electricity in rural areas.

RECP Scoping Mission Senegal

The mission witnessed considerable private sector interest in PV, both MW-scale and off-grid equipment/ applications. The private sector is being present and very active doing prospective works in the last years. To lobby for improving the enabling environment for renewable energy in Senegal, the private sector has come together under the Council of Professionals of Renewable Energies in Senegal (COPERES).
