In 2016 Mzumbe University delivered one of the largest sales training bootcamps ever organised in East Africa. We gathered in the same place both graduates and professional salespeople. The aim was to train the grownups while helping the young ones find their first job.

I would like to thank both Mzumbe University and its outstanding coordinators Dr Darlene K. Mutalemwa and Mr. Jumanne John Muruga for being the true heroes of this massive event. John and Darlene are the visionaries who designed, coordinated and led the entire bootcamp.

I also would like to thank Mr. Bhavesh Chandaria, Head of Learning and Development at Safal Group, for contributing to our training on stage.

You will find attached a poster with the list of the generous sponsors who funded this ambitious project. Without their financial contributions we could have not trained and supported hundreds of sales professionals and young job seekers.

A special thank you to our guest of honour Mohammed Dewji who has truly inspired all of us with his values and personal story.

Another amazing training session with a sales team from Movit, the Ugandan cosmetics manufacturer. The company is among Uganda’s largest tax payers with a production line of more than 170 products. Movit went from an initial investment of 1 million UGX to annual revenues worth 35 billion UGX. We would like to thank Sarah Nandi from Kimberly Ryan Uganda, the African N #1 Recruiter, for being a great HR partner. We will be back to Kampala very soon!

Today I was invited by the Rotaract Club of Kampala Ssese Islands to speak about “sales” and “how to make an impression in less than 15 seconds.”

I was honoured to receive a Certificate of Appreciation. I will hang it on the wall of my room.

The purpose of Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.

The lady in the picture is Loyola Karobwa, President of Rotaract Kampala Ssese Islands. Thank you Loyola for inviting me!

I met some of the most promising young individuals I have ever come across. If you are between 18–30 years of age and live in Kampala, please join this community! You will thank me in a few years' time! I give you my word!

Today we had an amazing sales training session in Kampala Uganda. We would like to thank AON Uganda and Ecobank Uganda for joining our Movers&Shakers training programme. We also would like to thank Mackinnon Suites staff for the excellent service and food. The students loved the venue too. The pictures were taken by the wonderful Ugandan photographer Martin Jjumba. Tag yourself if you recognise the picture. Last but not least, this session would have not been possible without our precious HR training partner Kimberly Ryan, the N #1 Recruiter in Africa. Kimberly Ryan recruited both our graduates students and corporate clients. Thank you Kimberly Ryan!

We recently helped one of our corporate clients in Nairobi (Kenya) recruit and train sales personnel. In these cases, we often have to explain that looking for the “best graduates” might not help find sales performers.

No training course can teach you how to win people. It takes more than formal training to develop such skills. The best graduate from the best university in the country might never become your next sales star. Winning in sales requires a person to possess important values and personal beliefs that are at the core of the sales profession. These are integrity, honesty and persistence.

Sales is also an emotionally-draining profession that requires a high tolerance level to discomfort and rejection. I disagree with those who say that “everyone can become a sales performer”. Sales is not for everybody, period.

When looking for your sales stars you have to remember that the “academic world” and “the world of sales” are simply two different planets and not everyone has what it takes to make the journey from the former to the latter!

We had a fantastic time at our sales training programme on Saturday, 14th Match, 2015!

I would like to thank my team (Sharon Mina, Pauline Mwangi, June Okal, Charbel Munhe, Dennis Gitonga, Kimzy, Joseph Alulu, and Salome Omondi), our students (you are many, but never too many) and our repeated and trusted suppliers!

I also would like to thank our business partner Kimberly Ryan Ltd, the Number #1 Recruiter in Africa! You selected some great students for this training session!

It was a long but rewarding day. Now we will need to work on the internship programmes where our students will practice what they have learnt!

Pain is my friend!

A salesperson’s worth lies in the ability to go the extra mile and work harder than the competition. We hear too often that what counts on the job is “working smart”. Working smart cannot be overstated, but you will still have to work harder than anybody else, even if you are smarter.

Success is the result of sacrifice, which in turn comes with the acceptance of discomfort.

In 2014 we had our first Movers&Shakers graduate training programme. It was fun and our students had the chance to work for a true leading firm for one week! 75% of them found a job a few weeks after the internship.

In the attached pictures you will find the students who joined the training programme, the induction day with Mabati Rolling Mills and the practical sales internship programme!

The next Movers&Shakers Programme will take place on Saturday 14th March, 2015.

Today I took some of my sales students to Tarpo Industries for a job interview. Mr. Shah, the CEO, showed us the manufacturing plant, before conducting the interviews. The company was founded in 1978 and it's the largest tent manufacturer and temporary shelter solutions provider in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Providing sales hires is one of the services we offer in partnership with the HR firm Kimberly Ryan.

We are proud of our graduates!

Today Enzo's Movers & Shakers have visited Mabati Rolling Mills for an induction day.

This week they will be selling Mabati to the hardware stores in four different areas of Nairobi. The best candidates will have a chance to be employed by Mabati as sales professionals.

These graduates have been trained by Enzo Graziano and his Associates (Sharon Mina, Farhan Qureshi, Jamil Walji, Ray Mwihaki and Brianna Roberts) and they are smoking hot!

If you are looking for young salespeople, look no further! These are the best the market can offer.
