A young man meets an old man and asks him:

- Do you remember me?

And the old man says NO.

Then the young man says that he was his student.

And the teacher asks:

- What are you doing, what do you do for a living?

The young man responds:

- Well, I became a teacher.

- Oh, good, like me? - said the old man

- Yes. Actually, I became a teacher because you inspired me to be like you.

The old man, curious, asks the young man what moment inspired him to become a teacher.

And the young man tells the following story:

- One day, a friend of mine, also a student, arrived with a beautiful new watch, and I decided I wanted it for myself and I stole it, took it out of his pocket. Soon after, my friend noticed the theft and immediately complained to our teacher, who was you. So, you stopped the class and said:

- Your friend's watch was stolen during class today. Whoever stole it, return it.

- I didn't return it because I didn't want to.

So you closed the door and told us all to get up and you were going to rummage through our pockets until we found the watch. But, he told us to close our eyes, because he would only look if we all had our eyes closed.

So we did, and you went from pocket to pocket, and when you got to mine, you found the watch and took it.

You kept looking for everyone's pockets and when you said: - "Open your eyes. We already have the watch."

You didn't tell me anything and you never mentioned the episode. You never said who stole the watch. That day, you saved my dignity forever.

It was the most shameful day of my life.

But it was also the day my dignity was saved from becoming a thief, a bad person, etc. You never said anything to me, and even though you didn't scold me or call my attention to give me a moral lesson, I got the message clearly.

And thanks to you, I understood that this is what a true educator should do. Do you remember that episode, professor?

And the teacher replies:

- "I remember the situation, the stolen watch, which I was looking for in everyone, but I don't remember you, because I also closed my eyes while looking."

*******

This is the essence of teaching:

If to correct you need to humiliate; you don't know how to teach.❣️

One of the most neglected virtues of our daily existence is appreciation. Somehow, we neglect to praise our son or daughter when he or she brings home a good report card, and we fail to encourage our children when they first succeed in baking a cake or building a birdhouse.

Nothing pleases children more than this kind of parental interest and approval.

We nourish the bodies of our children, friends and success teams, but how seldom do we nourish their self-esteem? We provide them with roast beef and potatoes to build energy, but we neglect to give them kind words of appreciation that would sing in their memories for years like the music of the morning stars.

Try leaving a friendly trail of little sparks of gratitude on your daily trips.

You will be surprised how they will set small flames of friendship that will be rose beacons on your next visit.

• Give honest and sincere appreciation.

*Self beleive Enhancement for maximum productivity*

You may have been brought up poor but you were not brought up to be poor. understand this, The real defination of adulthood is responsibility. When you become an adult you take full responsibility of your future. What do you have in yourself? There are many who cry for help and because there are no answers to their call of help they feel the pain of neglect. Refuse to give up, believe in what God made. God made you and He never made a failure. Believe that God has a purpose for your life. You may have been as a parental accident, but you were not a devine accident. God knew you were coming and made sufficient provision for You. There is a place for you in the world and am helping you find that place. There is a certain thing you must do for all what we have discussed to be a reality.

There are things that are not in abundance in life, they are limited. One of them is TIME. Save time. keep track of your time. The Bible says Redeem your time because days are lethal, you don't have extra time.

Life is not a game therefore, make every day count in your life. Improve yourself everyday. Introduce something into your life that counts. Choose to be a SUCCESS. become inspiring. Distinguish with character, with excellence. If you are a musician, be a musician with a difference. Whatever you do, do it with excellence.
Put yourself and your best in what you do and change the world. Remember there is no extra time. Whatever you do now do it the best way the first time. SUCCESS is waiting for the man who says yes to success, a man who plans for it, who riches out for it, who says i will wake up and wakes up, who says i will go to school and goes. SUCCESS is for the man who makes a decision. So time is important.

Don't spend your time watching television 24hrs a day, watching videos 24hrs a day because those that you are watching have put their best to what you are watching. Change the position, say to yourself i will be watched.

Sometimes am concerned. There are those people who only think about perfume designers, clothes designers. The question is, where are your designs, Challenge yourself for the future.

There is a room for you. There is a place for you at the top. Train your mind and use it.Give yourself to a teacher, tutor, train yourself, train your mind.

When you do so your mind will be ready to deliver to you thoughts. The right thoughts and ideas that will earn you commercial value. There is no poverty for the man who has made an investment in his mind and he is willing to act. There is no hunger for the man who has trained his mind to think through any problem to solve any problem. Train yourself. Think through a problem and lender a solution.

Let men come to you for advice. Decide to be smart, to be a problem solver. If you make that decision, that what you will be.

Problem solvers are in short supply in the world. There is a place for a man who choses to be one.

Some of you are great writters in the nation but where are your writings? Maybe you are sleeping too much, maybe you are playing too much, maybe you are planning the whole day. Its time to put your best in that writing, let the country read your writings. Let the same happen to everything else you are doing.

My wish is you decide to put in action all that we've discussed.

"Croatia came to this World Cup with only two natural strikers. Mario Mandzukic, the guy who scored the winner goal in the match against England.

The other was Nikola Kalinic. He was on the bench for Croatia's first game against Nigeria. With five minutes to end that game, the coach instructed him to dress up and replace another player.

Kalinic angrily refused to play, in protest of being left on the bench.

He saw himself a top player, and wouldn't come on for just five minutes. The coach turned to another player Pjaca for the substitution.

After the match, Kalinic refused to apologize, despite appeals from other coaching staff.

The coach then sacked him from the team, and sent him home from Russia. Kalinic flew for holidays, and even posted pictures of himself enjoying elsewhere.

After all, he seemed to imagine, Croatia won't go anywhere in the tournament. But without him, the team managed to win their matches.

Croatia has achieved their greatest football achievement in history, reaching the World Cup final.

The remaining 22 players are national heroes. Their names would forever be inscribed in the hearts of generations.

Kalinic should have been part of this glory but is now a butt of ridicule all because of minutes of anger, minutes of pride and bloated ego.

He may have regretted now. He may have realized his tomfoolery. But it is too late. These stories about life are quite familiar to us, but do we really learn lessons from them? Are they profoundly applied to all spheres of life?

Learn to CUT PRIDE. Learn to control anger and DEFLATE EGO and ultimately, learn to say SORRY.

*Years of SWEAT and DEDICATION can all be shattered by moments of ANGER and PRIDE. DON'T BE A KALINIC.."*

HOW DID THAT FOOL OVERTAKE ME?

That’s the question that lingers in the minds of most people when they turn 55. They know very well that they studied hard, worked hard and lived a generally organized life. What they really can’t figure out is how that rugged looking, unschooled 'tout' in the street managed to build an economy 100 times better than theirs.

How did that D- (Minus) material manage to own acres and acres of real estate? Or how did that mtumba seller manage to build a bungalow while I am still struggling to pay for a mortgaged two bedroom apartment? Well, that’s the sad reality of life. Sometimes those from whom not much is expected are the ones who pull a couple of surprise moves in life.

This post brings this into perspective. It’s a life-journey comparison of two people. One is a matatu tout the other one is a banker. One is a blue-collar worker in a field that is otherwise reserved for those who seem unambitious in life. The other one is an educated, neatly dressed white-collar professional who spends most of his time in some corner office.

The only disclaimer I would like to make is that this story is not meant to demean any career. Its sole aim is to educate you on good and bad choices in life and how they influence who we become.

The Matatu Tout Vs. The Banker

A matatu tout is a career despised by many owing to the fact that it is seen as a preserve for the academically weak and unintelligent people. You only need basic cash-handling skills to venture into this career which means one can get started immediately they finish form four.

On the other hand, a career in banking is coveted by many across the globe. In order to become a banking clerk, you need a Bachelors Degree or at least advanced training in accounts which obviously mean spending at least 3 years in post-secondary school.

According to independent research by the SDE Kenya and Mediamax, on a good day, a tout in a Nairobi matatu takes home Sh 3,000. On a bad day, he takes Sh 1,500.

On the other hand, a spot check on banking clerks salaries in Kenya show that most banks offer a basic salary of Ksh30,000 – Ksh40,000 to their employees.

Remember that a matatu tout can start working almost immediately after form four and so by the time the banker finds a job, the tout already has 3 years of experience. The tout will have already completed his driving classes and just waiting for 2 more years to become a fully-fledged PSV driver. He has by default been “hardened” by rubbing shoulders with the traffic police, city council askaris and NTSA officers.

So let us see how the two manage their life and money differently.

Starting Life

The matatu tout, owing to his perceived “low class” standards is comfortable renting out a house in some dark corner of Githurai 45. That costs him a paltry Ksh3,000 per month. Thanks to the nature of his job, he does not require to pay fare to and from town.

The graduate banker on the other hand due to his perceived “high class” status in society will rent a bed-sitter in Roysambu or any other middle-income estate. That will cost him approximately Ksh10,000 per month. Unlike the tout, he has to pay for matatu fare to and from work every morning.

Fare from Roysambu to town (one-way) is usually Ksh100 during peak hours. Don’t forget the late-night Uber trips the banker has to take after a night out with his fellow educated friends.

How They Save

The matatu tout is naturally able to save more because of his low expenses. If he is wise and disciplined, he will join a SACCO where he will start saving with the dream of purchasing his own matatu. You will find him comfortably taking food in vibandas (temporary sheds) to save an extra coin he can find.

His street survival instincts will have taught him that he can actually take advantage of free transport of his employer’s matatu to be collecting second-hand clothes in Gikomba. So he starts up a small market stall in the busy Githurai market.

On the other hand, the banker will be busy trying to fit into a certain lifestyle. His biggest worry will be how to upgrade from the bed-sitter in Roysambu to a one-bedroom house in Garden Estate or Ruaka. He will also be working very hard to get a loan so that he can buy a car.

His goal is to particularly fit into a lifestyle worthy of a white collar job employee. You will therefore find him busy on social media updating his growing number of online fans on his daily escapades.

As the matatu tout builds his savings and expands his streams of income, the banking clerk gets busy financing a lifestyle.

Five Years Later

Five years down the line, the matatu tout has already become a PSV matatu driver which means his daily take-home has risen from Ksh3,000 to Ksh5,000. He only needs to wait for a few more months and he will be having his own matatu on the road.

Even luckier for him, he already has the hard skills of managing this tricky business. His mtumba business has also blossomed and he has left it to his wife to manage full-time. This brings an extra Ksh1,000 a day to the family’s kitty.

The story of the banker is not all too gloom and doom either. He has already managed to clock in a few more years of experience and has been promoted to a better position. He now takes home Ksh60,000 basic salary per month.

He is already finishing up on repaying the car loan he took during the early years of employment. Next on his plan is to take up another loan to finance his upcoming wedding. His target budget is Ksh1,000,000.

Note that due to his promotion at work he now has to deal with more workload…meaning his mind is fully occupied and he cannot even think of running a side-hustle.

At 55 Years Of Age

The matatu tout has managed to grow his matatu business from one matatu to a fleet comprising 14 seaters and 33 seater HINO buses. And thanks to his experience on the road, he has been appointed as the head of his matatu sacco.

His mtumba business has also grown into a fully-fledged boutique with branches in Ruai and Ongata Rongai. His wife frequently travels abroad to shop for new supplies for their business. They have also constructed a bungalow in the outskirts of the capital. In just a few more years, they will be constructing some rental apartments in Juja.

The good banker on the other hand will have reached a senior managerial position. Good for him. But that’s the end of the story. He will be stuck in debt. He has a mortgage loan for the apartment he bought in mlolongo – the mortgage loan has a repayment of 30 years meaning he will repay it until he turns 85.

His kids are going to expensive schools and he is already feeling the strain of paying for tuition and boarding fee. To make matters worse, the bank he works for is not doing so well owing to factors like capped interest loan rates and entry of digital banking.

A memo is circulated in the office that some people will be retrenched. He becomes a worried man. His health deteriorates. He is on the verge of having his apartment repossessed if he loses that job. He tries to secure a loan to start a business (remember he has no hands-on experience in managing his own business), it fails. You can now join the dots and figure out what happens to him in his sunset years.

Final Word

Once again, the goal of this story is not to encourage you to despise some jobs. We cannot all become touts. But there is a lesson in it for all of us to learn. The banker in this case is you – the smartly dressed chap who spends his time on Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter etc. The banker is also you – who despises humble beginnings.

That mkokoteni drawing fool you splash water on with your ex-Japan car bought on loan might soon give you a run for your money. Wake up, stop financing a lifestyle. Don’t be a robot. Don’t take a nap in your comfort zone.

Lets have COMFORT ZONE as a topic for another day coz I see a lot of people making memes about Friend zone but no one talks about the other zone.

Otherwise, Wake up and start working on your dreams.

Don't forget to SHARE this post to educate and motivate others.

LETTER TO THE YOUTHS!

Keep your Degree and Diploma in a safe custody for future opportunity, and engage in entrepreneur skills, otherwise you will die poor.

Most of the educated people in Kenya are poor. Majority of the educated earn less than 30,000 for a salary before tax and other deductions. When the deductions are put into consideration, the net salary comes to around 25,000. The net salary then suffers from loan deductions of up to 10,000 leaving the salary at around 15,000. The landlord then demands for his 4,000 and monthly shopping takes away 8,000 leaving one with a 3,000.That is in Exclusion of bus fare. The whole salary is gone and borrowed money starts operating. The borrowed money includes short loans and salary advances.

The difference between poverty and prosperity is property. A prosperous person has property to his name while a poverty stricken person has no property to show. Using this understanding, therefore, most of the degree holders are poverty stricken, borrowing money to buy chicken and chips, pizza, and a car.

The biggest excuse for getting paid such low amounts of money and having to sit and work for another person for 30 days is THE DEGREE that one possesses and that’s all. This has made most of the degree holders very poor to poverty stricken and will die that way most likely. A degree holder does not know how to generate money unless that money is generated for the employer. A degree holder is so dependent on the salary that he can do anything to get a job but will not think of starting a business of his own to employ others.

Interesting Facts!

1. A degree holder is not prepared to sell chips but is very happy to work for hungry lion (companies).

2. A degree holder is not prepared to sell popcorn in the street but is very happy to work for Hotel outlets in the cities and towns.

3.A degree holder is not prepared to sell second hand clothes but is very happy to be employed by insurance company which the business of selling out the business and looking for customers in a scorching Sun.

4.A degree holder is not prepared to make 150,000 monthly doing his own business but is very happy to work at the till in a bank getting paid 25,000.

5.A degree holder is not prepared to start a company and grow it in two to three years but will spend three years searching for a job.

6.A degree holder is not prepared to sell food to students but will be happy to be reporting to a boss with no qualifications as Office Assistant as long as he is paid 30,000 for a salary.

7. A degree holder is so eager to get out of this country and work in another country than spend time to develop his own country.

8. A degree holder staying in a foreign land (Kenyan) is very keen to condemn Kenyans but never contributing to the development of this country.

9. A Kenyan degree holder would rather sweep the streets of London or USA than start a business to make money in her father land – others work in people’s homes doing some work (cleaners).

10. A degree holder in Kenya will watch p**n on his laptop but never sit to write a book using the same laptop to sell and make money.

11. A degree holder will blame the government for lack of jobs even after he was on government bursary for him to have his degree.

12. Kenya is blessed with young people who have master’s degree and others are doctors in different technical fields such as IT and Engineering but all of them have failed to create a cartoon character or develop a movie from the same instead very happy to buy Tom and Jerry for their children thereby promoting American and UK.

During my student life, there was a lady in our university from a very humble background who could not construct a proper English statement. She sold Coke, Fanta and Sprite at 80 each making a profit of 10 on each drink. She also sold chips at 50 making a profit of 17 on each portion. Not less than 80 students bought chips and a drank every single day. This means she makes a profit of 27 for a drink and chips and a total profit of 2,160 per day…every single day. In ten days she makes a profit of 21,600 in twenty days 43,200 and in thirty days 64,800.

The degree holder working in a bank at the till gets a salary of 45,000 every month.

Why are the degree holders poor?

Because they have decided to pride themselves in a degree and failed to think better than a man who does not have even a certificate to his name.

Degree holders spend their time liking articles on linkedIn and facebook but never have any care in the world to implement what they like. Poverty starts from the mind, a mind that just likes things but never to implement those things.

If you want to progress, keep that degree and start thinking better than someone without a degree. There's no white collar Job anywhere brother or sister.

Be prepared to get your hands dirty and work like an ox for your business. Your hard work will pay off.

Biology says that after sexual in*******se, about 200 to 300 million sperms are deposited by the man, they all begin to swim upwards within the track to meet with the o**m, out of the 200 million that are deposited only 300 to 500 actually reach the site (others get tired on the way because is not an easy race) and of the 300 that manage to reach the o**m (egg), only one fertilised the egg and in this case the winning one is YOU.
Have you ever thought about this? You ran a race without your eyes and your legs you WON, you ran a race without your education and you WON, you ran without certificate and you WON, you ran without help and you WON, what makes you think you will Lose now?
Now that you have both eyes and legs, now that you have the knowledge of God's word, now that you have plans, visions and dreams, beloved you didn't give up on day one, so you can't give up now, giving up now is an insult to your creator.
It doesn't matter what you see now, take it as a challenge and always remember that you WON from womb.
You will win this your present battle in Jesus Name.
Say this after me, "" I will never quit until I strike!"

FUTURE PREDICTIONS:
In 1998, Kodak had 170,000 employees and sold 85% of all photo paper worldwide. Within just a few years, their business model disappeared and they went bankrupt. What happened to Kodak will happen in a lot of industries in the next 10 years - and most people don't see it coming. Did you think in 1998 that 3 years later you would never take pictures on paper film again? Yet digital cameras were invented in 1975. The first ones only had 10,000 pixels, but followed Moore's law. So as with all exponential technologies, it was a disappointment for a long time, before it became way superior and got mainstream in only a few short years. It will now happen with Artificial Intelligence, health, autonomous and electric cars, education, 3D printing, agriculture and jobs. Welcome to the 4th Industrial Revolution. Welcome to the Exponential Age.

Software will disrupt most traditional industries in the next 5-10 years.
Uber is just a software tool, they don't own any cars, and are now the biggest taxi company in the world. Airbnb is now the biggest hotel company in the world, although they don't own any properties.

Artificial Intelligence: Computers become exponentially better in understanding the world. This year, a computer beat the best Go player in the world, 10 years earlier than expected. In the US, young lawyers already don't get jobs. Because of IBM Watson, you can get legal advice (so far for more or less basic stuff) within seconds, with 90% accuracy compared with 70% accuracy when done by humans. So if you study law, stop immediately. There will be 90% fewer lawyers in the future, only specialists will remain. Watson already helps nurses diagnosing cancer, 4 time more accurate than human nurses. Facebook now has a pattern recognition software that can recognize faces better than humans. By 2030, computers will become more intelligent than humans.

Autonomous Cars: In 2018 the first self-driving cars will appear for the public. Around 2020, the complete industry will start to be disrupted. You don't want to own a car anymore. You will call a car with your phone, it will show up at your location and drive you to your destination. You will not need to park it, you only pay for the driven distance and can be productive while driving. Our kids will never get a driver's license and will never own a car. It will change the cities, because we will need 90-95% fewer cars for that. We can transform former parking space into parks. 1.2 million people die each year in car accidents worldwide. We now have one accident every 100,000 km, with autonomous driving that will drop to one accident in 10 million km. That will save a million lives each year.

Most car companies may become bankrupt. Traditional car companies try the evolutionary approach and just build a better car, while tech companies (Tesla, Apple, Google) will do the revolutionary approach and build a computer on wheels. I spoke to a lot of engineers from Volkswagen and Audi; they are completely terrified of Tesla.

Insurance Companies will have massive trouble because without accidents, the insurance will become 100x cheaper. Their car insurance business model will disappear.

Real estate will change. Because if you can work while you commute, people will move further away to live in a more beautiful neighborhood.

Electric cars won’t become mainstream until 2020. Cities will be less noisy because all cars will run on electric. Electricity will become incredibly cheap and clean: Solar production has been on an exponential curve for 30 years, but you can only now see the impact. Last year, more solar energy was installed worldwide than fossil. The price for solar will drop so much that all coal companies will be out of business by 2025.

With cheap electricity comes cheap and abundant water. Desalination now only needs 2kWh per cubic meter. We don't have scarce water in most places, we only have scarce drinking water. Imagine what will be possible if anyone can have as much clean water as he wants, for nearly no cost.

Health: There will be companies that will build a medical device (called the "Tricorder" from Star Trek) that works with your phone, which takes your retina scan, your blood sample and you breathe into it. It then analyses 54 biomarkers that will identify nearly any disease. It will be cheap, so in a few years everyone on this planet will have access to world class medicine, nearly for free.

3D printing: The price of the cheapest 3D printer came down from $18,000 to $400 within 10 years. In the same time, it became 100 times faster. All major shoe companies started 3D printing shoes. Spare airplane parts are already 3D printed in remote airports. The space station now has a printer that eliminates the need for the large number of spare parts they used to have in the past.

At the end of this year, new smart phones will have 3D scanning possibilities. You can then 3D scan your feet and print your perfect shoe at home. In China, they already 3D printed a complete 6-storey office building. By 2027, 10% of everything that's being produced will be 3D printed.

Business Opportunities: If you think of a niche you want to go in, ask yourself: "in the future, do you think we will have that?" and if the answer is yes, how can you make that happen sooner? If it doesn't work with your phone, forget the idea. And any idea designed for success in the 20th century is doomed in to failure in the 21st century.

Work: 70-80% of jobs will disappear in the next 20 years. There will be a lot of new jobs, but it is not clear if there will be enough new jobs in such a small time.

Agriculture: There will be a $100 agricultural robot in the future. Farmers in 3rd world countries can then become managers of their field instead of working all days on their fields. Agroponics will need much less water. The first Petri dish produced veal is now available and will be cheaper than cow-produced veal in 2018. Right now, 30% of all agricultural surfaces is used for cows. Imagine if we don't need that space anymore. There are several startups that will bring insect protein to the market shortly. It contains more protein than meat. It will be labeled as "alternative protein source" (because most people still reject the idea of eating insects).

There is an app called "moodies" which can already tell in which mood you are. Until 2020 there will be apps that can tell by your facial expressions if you are lying. Imagine a political debate where it's being displayed when they are telling the truth and when not.

Bitcoin will become mainstream this year and might even become the default reserve currency.

Longevity: Right now, the average life span increases by 3 months per year. Four years ago, the life span used to be 79 years, now it's 80 years. The increase itself is increasing and by 2036, there will be more than one year increase per year. So we all might live for a long long time, probably way more than 100.

Education: The cheapest smart phones are already at $10 in Africa and Asia. Until 2020, 70% of all humans will own a smart phone. That means, everyone has the same access to world class education.
