Struggling with the common saying " Accept and move on"?
It's probably the only card you got. S**t may have happened at whatever stage of your life. You do realize there is not so much you can change. The negative thoughts and feelings stalk you everywhere. But you know what?
You are not your thoughts.
You are not your feelings.
They don't harm until you pay attention to them.
They don't hurt until you act on them. They are just that, thoughts and feelings.
Just like you don't go collecting dirt on the streets. The dirt doesn't keep you from moving, until you pay attention to it and start collecting it( weird, isn't it?).
The negative thoughts and feelings don't stop you until you pay attention to and act on them.
You can stop them from stopping you.
Find some goal and keep moving towards it. Speak to the thoughts and feelings and say , you know what: I notice you are there, but since you ain't moving me towards my goals, I will do what takes me closer to my goals and aspirations. This is called commitment. Stay committed to your goals and don't allow the thoughts and feelings to distract you.You will find yourself being happier, even though dirt still hangs around. This is accepting and moving on, on the real sense.
