Anyone earning above KSh 50,000 per month will see higher NSSF deductions.
Those earning KSh 50,000 or less will see little to no change, depending on their income band.
π Estimated Monthly NSSF Deductions (Employee Portion Only):
β’ Salary ~ KSh 30,000 β ~KSh 1,800
β’ Salary ~ KSh 50,000 β ~KSh 3,000
β’ Salary ~ KSh 72,000 β ~KSh 4,320
β’ Salary ~ KSh 100,000 β ~KSh 6,000
β’ Salary KSh 108,000+ β ~KSh 6,480 (maximum)
π Note: These figures are employee contributions only. Employers match the same amount.
π‘ What this means for you: βοΈ Earn around KSh 50,000 β Expect about KSh 3,000 deducted monthly.
βοΈ Earn above KSh 100,000 β Deductions rise to KSh 6,000β6,480, roughly KSh 2,000+ more than before.
βοΈ Even though employers match the contribution, your take-home pay reduces.
π Bottom line:
Another pinch on the payslip especially for higher earners, but it also means higher long-term retirement savings.
