The job holder must have a form 4 certificate.

Minimum Requirements
• Over 2 years experience as a driver.
• One must be very conversant with whole of Kenya and all major routes.
• Positive attitude.
• Ability to navigate efficiently.
• Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Able to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
• Able to function well as part of a team.
• Diligent attention to detail and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Safely transport products to customer locations in a timely, safe and courteous manner.
• Maintain driver logs and complete pre-trip inspections.
• Follow delivery/pickup instructions from Logistic Manager.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
• Ensure that all deliveries have been signed and delivered to the correct recipient.
• Keep vehicle clean and maintained at all times.
• Perform preventative and regular maintenance on vehicle.

JOB SUMMARY
Skills & Qualifications;
• Minimum O-level certificate.
• MUST have driving skills and experience.
• Must have a valid driving license with endorsement for driving a vehicle.
• At least 2 years' experience.
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English and Kiswahili.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities;
• Responsible for the safe operation, usage and maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
• Ensures all duties as driver of the assigned vehicle are performed in adherence with local traffic laws and company Policies, specifically Authorized Driver Agreement.
• Responsible for accounting for each trip, record-keeping and attendant paperwork from each trip using company Vehicle Log Book to ensure vehicle usage activities comply with company Policies, Rules and Regulations.
• Reports any problems identified in the vehicle and also ensures all licenses and documents relating to the vehicle are renewed on time and as required.
• Supports the company operations through the implementation of safety approaches, procedures and protocols delineated by company regarding travel, safety and security.
• Maintain the vehicle in a presentable clean state.
• Maintain high level of confidentiality.
• Ensure compliance to proper traffic rules governing road usage in towns.
• Ensure paramount safety of motor vehicle and official items at all times.
• Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time to time by the operations manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Vehicle maintenance and repair, Customer service, Driving license Class B, C, E - light vehicles & heavy commercial vehicles.

Position: Driver (6 Positions) FRM 11

Location: Kilifi

Reports to: Administrator.

Job purpose

To drive organization vehicles and to perform a wide variety of office support and administrative duties in support of the administration department

Responsibilities

To drive site vehicles carefully at all times and ensure safety of the passengers, other road users, and the assigned vehicle;
To transport participants, staff, visitors and deliveries when required
Shipment of study samples to respective laboratories
To ensure high level of professionalism while handling clients
To ensure cleanliness of site vehicles at all times
To perform thorough vehicle inspection before use
Perform minor maintenance of vehicles and reporting all defects
Recording time and mileage logs at all times
To indicate the vehicle fuel and service costs
To ensure all vehicle reports are done and submitted as per scheduled date;
Checking all statutory requirements of all vehicles
Adherence to vehicle maintenance schedules
Proper and prompt reporting of any accident or damage involving site vehicles
To assist in other duties in the office as assigned by the immediate supervisor when not undertaking driving duties
Qualifications

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution
Valid and clean driving License classes –A,B,C, and E
Basic mechanical or equivalent certification will be an added advantage
A minimum of two (2) years in a busy institution

Terms of employment

Employment is a one year renewable contract with a probation period for the first 3 months. Salary is negotiable within the appropriate grade depending on education, experience and demonstrated competency.
