Objective:
The objective is to help persons interested to venture into horticulture and related agribusiness to increase their knowledge and skills on how to (and what is required) to start and manage a successful horticulture enterprise. Focus will be on vegetables and fruits (specific session on summer flowers will be announced).
Format:
This is an accelerated training taking.
Participants should be able to attend the course on a Saturday from 9am to 4pm.
The training will cover the critical theoretical aspects of horticulture and (depending on interest) a brief practical demonstration using standard greenhouse set up.
Training location
The theory session will take part at the company offices at Madonna House Westlands, Nairobi.
The practical demonstration will take place where greenhouse is located along Thika Road, about 20 km from Nairobi.
Requirements:
There are no charges for taking place in this course, the training fee is fully sponsored.
Participants should bring notebook and pen to take notes. No supplementary reading materials will be provided. Printed booklets of the training material will be available for purchase at discounted prices.
Participants are responsible for their own transport to training venues.
Participants to plans for their own meals.
