The National Assembly yesterday approved Cambodia’s accession to the Cape Town Convention and Aircraft Protocol, paving the way for easier aircraft financing, lower leasing costs and stronger legal protection for international aviation investors and financiers.

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) staged his year’s Cambodia Investment Forum 2026 on May 7. The Cambodian government has announced a new tax relief measure, aimed at easing daily living expenses in the Kingdom. For a three-year period, locally-produced essential food items will not be subjected to Value Added Tax (VAT). The policy will take effect from January 1, 2026, and will remain in force until the end of 2028.
