METAVERSE advertising! (is it the Future)?
Advertising is one of the engines of the world. We are talking about the entire planet, not just the world of an industry. And if it's money that makes the world go round, then it's in the right advertising that you need to invest.
The vast majority of items we buy, whether we need them or not, are ours thanks to advertising. Once you look around you and pay attention, you'll notice that everyone wants to sell you something. which positions marketing and advertising as one of the most present human disciplines in our daily lives.
So it's obvious that with advertising being so pervasive in the world of finance, it's to be expected that all the opportunities the Metaverse opens up and generates new challenges for advertising. And that's where people gather the most, and right now there are a lot of people/industries interested in the concept of advertising in the Metaverse.
There are already convincing parallels including in my studies that this kind of advertising works very well.
The Metaverse's antecedents will video games like Fortnite and Roblox (my 7-year-old daughter still play).
These experiences have almost everything they need to be the best... But those virtual universes still can't communicate with each other. So for now, they are "only" video games.
So, in these places, we can see millions of users changing the clothes of their avatars or the avatar itself.
They do so based on emotions and for little or no reason at all , as none of these "skins" has real market value (they cannot be resold) or provides any advantage. However, representing ourselves in a special way is something that appeals to almost everyone.
Given that Roblox and Fortnite make so much money, imagine what would happen if a well-known brand, or an artist or athlete, entered the Metaverse to sell digital merchandise.
And if we add that this merchandise is a limited supply bought in quantity, it is likely that product will run out soon.
This is the principle that many brands already see in the Metaverse. Advertising is considered normal on public transport, social media, television, and other forms of entertainment, and will soon be in the Metaverse as well.
