The Mekong-Australia Partnership in collaboration with Australia Awards Cambodia supported the Crawford School of Public Policy, the Australian National University, to provide a short course on Economic Literacy for Non-Economists to 64 participants, 48 per cent of whom are women, from eleven organisations in Cambodia. The participants learnt how Economics can help them understand the forces driving the world and predict what will occur and how Cambodia can take advantage of the events in response.
Over the course of coming months and years, this cohort of very relevant intellectuals, including government officials and staff from think tanks, are likely to apply the knowledge and skills acquired from the course in their work that is what Australia wants to see from the investment in human capital development in Cambodia. They might use the knowledge gained to determine whether we should sign more free trade agreements and propose solutions to overcoming challenges of ageing populations, reducing inequality, raising living standards and addressing climate change in Cambodia.
ភាពជាដៃគូមេគង្គ-អូស្ត្រាលី សហការជាមួយ កម្មវិធីអាហារូបករណ៍អូស្រ្តាលី បានគាំទ្រសាលាគោលនយោបាយសាធារណៈក្រហ្វត នៃសាកលវិទ្យាល័យជាតិអូស្ត្រាលី ដើម្បីផ្តល់វគ្គបណ្តុះបណ្តាលខ្លីមួយស្តីពីអក្ខរកម្មសេដ្ឋកិច្ចសម្រាប់អ្នកមិនមែនសេដ្ឋកិច្ចដល់សិក្ខាកាមចំនួន 64 នាក់ ដែល 48 ភាគរយជាស្ត្រី មកពីស្ថាប័នចំនួន១១នៅកម្ពុជា។ អ្នកចូលរួមបានរៀនពីរបៀបដែលសេដ្ឋកិច្ចអាចជួយពួកគេឱ្យយល់អំពីកម្លាំងជំរុញសកល និងព្យាករណ៍ពីអ្វីដែលនឹងកើតឡើង និងរបៀបដែលកម្ពុជាអាចទាញយកប្រយោជន៍ពីព្រឹត្តិការណ៍ក្នុងការឆ្លើយតបរបស់ខ្លួន។
ក្នុងរយៈពេលប៉ុន្មានខែ និងឆ្នាំខាងមុខនេះ ក្រុមបញ្ញវន្តដែលរួមមានមន្ត្រីរដ្ឋាភិបាល និងបុគ្គលិកស្ថាប័នស្រាវជ្រាវដែលបានចូលរួមវគ្គបណ្តុះបណ្តាលនេះ ទំនងជានឹងអនុវត្តចំណេះដឹង និងជំនាញដែលទទួលបានពីវគ្គបណ្តុះបណ្តាលក្នុងការងាររបស់ពួកគេ ដែលជាអ្វីប្រទេសអូស្ត្រាលីចង់ឃើញពីការវិនិយោគក្នុងការអភិវឌ្ឍធនធានមនុស្សនៅកម្ពុជា។ សិក្ខាកាមអាចនឹងប្រើប្រាស់ចំណេះដឹងដែលទទួលបានដើម្បីកំណត់ថាតើយើងគួរតែចុះហត្ថលេខាលើកិច្ចព្រមព្រៀងពាណិជ្ជកម្មសេរីបន្ថែមទៀត និងស្នើដំណោះស្រាយសម្រាប់បញ្ហាប្រឈមរបស់ប្រជាជនវ័យចំណាស់ ការកាត់បន្ថយវិសមភាព ការលើកកម្ពស់ជីវភាពរស់នៅ និងសម្រាប់បញ្ហាបម្រែបម្រួលអាកាសធាតុនៅកម្ពុជា។
