"To shield our people from the full impact of global price shocks, the government is forgoing between $55 and $70 million every month in petroleum duty, and we have reduced LPG import duty to zero. We have diversified our supply across Singapore, Brunei and other partners, and the support we provide has been carefully calibrated to remain sustainable over the longer term."

24,000 New Jobs-Cambodia’s February Investment Boom

Cambodia’s investment landscape is heating up. According to the Council for the Development of Cambodia, February 2026 saw the registration of 42 new investment projects, injecting a massive 166 million US dollars into the economy.

This surge is set to be a major engine for growth, with the CDC projecting the creation of approximately 24,000 new jobs for the Cambodian people.

The breakdown shows a balanced approach to development: 18 projects were approved directly by the CDC—split evenly between Special Economic Zones and outside locations—while 24 additional projects were registered through Provincial-Municipal Investment Sub-Committees.

"Cambodian families and businesses are feeling the pressure from higher fuel prices, and we take that seriously. Supply continues, and our pricing system helps cushion part of the shock from international market movements.

Cambodia are working closely with import partners to support continued replenishment. Cambodia are also accelerating the energy transition.

Faster electrification of transport, manufacturing, and agriculture will reduce the exposure to oil price shocks over time. This is a serious global situation, and country are responding with focus and with care."
