Cambodia Swaps Temple Tours for Two Wheels
Siem Reap just turned up the volume.
Instead of another Angkor Wat sunrise tour, a major motorcycle rally roared through town with full backing from the Ministry of Tourism and local officials. This was not just a biker meetup. It was a statement: Cambodia wants adventure travellers.
For years, tourism here revolved around temples and bus routes. Now the focus is shifting to open roads, rural villages and off-the-map stops. When riders move, money spreads. Small eateries, homestays and roadside shops get paid, not just the big landmarks.
The rally, led by the KRT Motorcycle Club's 8th anniversary, also raised funds for Angkor Children's Hospital. Engines, dust and a solid cause behind it.
Cambodia is done being a single-stop destination. The temples still stand. But the future might be best seen from a motorbike seat.
