떡 하나 주면 안 잡아먹지! 해님달님 이야기 속 호랑이 는 정말 일반적인 호랑이였을까요? 사람처럼 말을 하고, 사람 행세를 하던 모습. 엄마를 잡아먹은 후엔 목소리를 흉내 내며 오누이를 현혹하던 모습. 그리고 일반적인 호랑이들과 달리 나무를 탈 줄 모르던 모습. 아마 호랑이의 모습을 한 범 요괴 가 아니었을까요?
묘신계 에서 소개하는 범은 호랑이 모습을 한 요괴입니다. 깊은 산속을 돌아다니며 사람을 꾀어내려 할 때는 귀여운 고양이 같은 모습을 하고 있다가 사람을 홀린 후 잡아먹죠. 번뜩이는 눈에, 입은 외계인처럼 커져 날카로운 이빨이 득실거리며, 몸이 일정한 형태 없이 흐물거리는 거대하고 무서운 모습이 본 모습이죠.
사람을 잡아먹고 나면 그 사람의 목소리나 생김새를 흉내 낼 수 있는데, 이 점을 이용하여 또 다른 사람들을 잡아먹으려 한다고 해요!

But once it has its victim under a spell, it reveals its true, terrifying self: flashing eyes, a mouth that stretches wide like an alien's filled with jagged teeth, and a massive, shifting body without a fixed shape.
It’s said that once it eats a person, it can perfectly mimic their voice and appearance to hunt its next prey! 😱
