The Birth Narrative

The Birth Narrative Welcome! I’m Paige Lloyd, a TRICARE Authorized Labor + VBAC Doula (CAPPA, TVL) & Co-COO of The VBAC Link helping families navigate and narrate their births.

Milspouse, mom of four, and honored to walk this journey with you. 🤍 My passion for birth work is rooted in my own stories. Birth has changed me for the better and taught me some of life's greatest lessons. I am a Labor Doula (CAPPA) and VBAC-certified (TVL). I completed an apprenticeship at and now serve families with the HOUM OBGYN clinic in Seoul as an independently contracted doula. I am a TRI

CARE Authorized Provider. Since 2020, I have worked for The VBAC Link, LLC in community engagement and podcast production. I have helped publish 300+ episodes of birth stories and content from women and birth professionals worldwide. As an Army spouse of 11 years and a mom of four boys, I have navigated birth in both military and civilian hospitals/birth centers in Texas, Oklahoma, Germany, Colorado, and South Korea. In October 2024, I advocated for the first Maternal Assisted Cesarean in South Korea. Birth can feel daunting, but with the right support, it can be one of the most sacred, joyous, and empowering days of your life!

Come join me, Adele Vitale (Morning Calm Birthing Services), Kensheilah Young (Cultive Doula LLC), and He Rion Lee, IBCLC (https://www.herionlee.com) for a free panel all about birthing off base in South Korea! We are all Tricare authorized and can help you know how to maximize your benefits.

Doulas see birth in many different locations, and IBCLCs help individuals breastfeed from all types of birth and birth locations, so it’s so helpful to hear all perspectives!

To the providers who are innovative,
who take time to try something new,
who think in solutions instead of problems,
who listen,
who collaborate,
and are nice.

Today I set up my dad (my parents are visiting SK!) in the car on our way home from school drop off. I pulled up our new episode on YouTube.

I could tell he was skeptical at first, but by the end of just our 15 min car ride, he was full-on crying and blowing his nose. He knew about my MAC before, but today, after hearing Dr. Koen speak about it, he GOT it.

I am so proud of this episode. I think everyone should listen and hear the possibilities of what a MAC can do. But more than that, I’m proud to know providers like and who work tirelessly to make birth better for women and who hold birth with such reverence.

My best girl said this in our episode a couple weeks ago and I cannot stop thinking about it!!

Doulas are your ultimate girl’s girls.

I am a doula because of the women who ran to me in my most vulnerable and exposed moments, who held my heart gently, and breathed life into me until I was back on my feet again.

So if you’re wondering…
Yes, I’d love to braid your hair.
I’ll get you a fresh bra.
I’ll hold you up on the toilet.
I’ll absolutely make sure your lips aren’t chapped.

While I’m surrounded by my best boys at home, I live for this stuff.
Cause this is girlhood,
And women need women 🎀

🎼“Music is what feelings sound like.”

I started playing violin when I was 5, got my Bachelors in Violin Performance and have played in community/professional orchestras ever since.

It might seem like a super random trade for a birth worker, but I think they are deeply related.

Music is a universal language and birth is a universally human experience.
I’ve been in rehearsals in German and Korean where I didn’t know what was being spoken but understood exactly what was being said and where we were in the piece.

Music is a deeply personal and amazing tool that can bring SO much comfort during labor.

Send me a message if you want access to the playlists I bring to births 🎵🤍

#2016 The year I became a mama

Full of dreaming and wondering, consumed with awe over a perfect, tiny little 4lb boy.

Charting new territory with each week of that first pregnancy, feeling what my body was capable of.

Facing fears and a birth story that was nothing like what I had envisioned yet laced with beauty that was everything I needed. Overwhelmed meeting him in the NICU 32 hours after birth simultaneously with an intense love and guilt that I didn’t carry him longer.

Igniting a new power, confidence, and hunger to learn.

Falling head over heels in love again with my husband, with motherhood & with my soft newborn who is somehow turning 10 this year.

What a ride, thanks 2016 🤍
