"Building Safer Roads: Defining Korea’s Policy Direction in the Era of Global Deployment" – CODIT Global Evidence Based Policy Institute has published a new issue paper calling for a shift from pilots to nationwide deployment of V2X infrastructure in Korea.

Despite its proven road safety and traffic efficiency benefits, V2X momentum has weakened due to the lack of follow-up policies and budget commitments, raising concerns over the country's future mobility competitiveness.

Key Policy Recommendations:
■ Establish a foundation for V2X expansion through financial support and institutional framework
■ Strengthen the importance of V2X in the Korea New Car Assessment Program (K-NCAP)
■ Manage Korea's V2X standards to maintain global policy alignment

The paper argues the necessity of a full-scale policy shift toward a V2X-based transportation system, and identifies the upcoming Gangneung ITS World Congress in October 2026 as an opportunity to implement this transformation.

CODIT Global Evidence-Based Policy Institute has released a new issue paper, "Aging Korea at a Vaccination Juncture: From Coverage to Effectiveness", examining how Korea’s influenza vaccination policy must evolve in a super-aged society. Despite one of the world’s highest vaccination rates among older adults, severe influenza outcomes remain concentrated among seniors—highlighting the limits of a coverage-centered, one-size-fits-all National Immunization Program.

Key Policy Recommendations:
◾ Shift the NIP from coverage targets to effectiveness-based outcomes
◾ Expand vaccine options for older adults, including enhanced vaccines
◾ Introduce a phased, risk-based approach prioritizing high-risk seniors

The paper underscores the need for Korea’s NIP to move beyond coverage targets and refocus on measurable health outcomes, healthcare system stability, and long-term sustainability.
