무인탐사연구소(UEL)가 우주항공청(KASA)이 주관하는 'KASA형 SBIR 2단계: 혁신 기술 검증 및 시제품 개발·사업화 전략 수립' 과제에 선정되었습니다.
앞서 진행된 1단계 기술기획 연구를 통해 달 탐사 환경에 적합한 로버 폼팩터와 핵심 기술 요구조건을 수립하였으며, 이번 2단계 사업을 통해 실제 우주급 환경에 대응 가능한 로버 시제품 개발과 지상 통합 성능 검증을 본격화할 예정입니다.
대한민국의 달 탐사 로버가 실질적인 탐사 임무를 완수할 수 있도록 열심히 연구하겠습니다.

UEL has been selected for the "KASA-Type SBIR Phase II: Innovative Technology Validation, Prototype Development, and Commercialization Strategy Planning" program hosted by the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA).
Building upon the Phase I technology planning research—which defined core technology requirements and a rover form factor tailored for the lunar surface—we are now advancing to Phase II to develop a space-grade lunar rover prototype and conduct integrated ground performance tests under simulated space environments.
We remain dedicated to research and development to ensure that South Korea’s lunar rover successfully accomplishes its real-world exploration missions.

지난 8월 6일, (주)무인탐사연구소(UEL)는 한국과학기술연구원(KIST) 전북 복합소재기술연구소와 기술 개발 및 교류 협력을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했습니다.
이번 협약을 계기로 양 기관은 국가연구개발사업 공동 추진, 연구 인력 교류, 전문 인력 양성 등 다양한 분야에서 적극적으로 협력해 나갈 예정입니다.
첨단 복합소재 연구를 선도하는 KIST 전북분원과의 협력을 통해 무인탐사 및 자율시스템 기술을 한층 더 강화하겠습니다.
앞으로 UEL과 KIST 전북분원이 함께 만들어갈 미래 기술 혁신에 많은 관심 부탁드립니다!

On August 6th, UEL concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the KIST Jeonbuk Institute of Advanced Composite Materials to foster technological development and collaborative research.
Under this agreement, both institutions plan to actively cooperate in various areas, such as jointly pursuing national research and development projects, exchanging research personnel, and cultivating professional talent.
Through this partnership with KIST Jeonbuk, a pioneer in advanced composite materials, UEL will enhance its technological capabilities in unmanned exploration and autonomous systems.

무인탐사연구소(UEL)가 한양대학교 ERICA 캠퍼스 및 국내 유수의 우주항공 기관·기업들과 함께 우주 탐사의 새로운 미래를 열어갑니다!
​ 우주항공청 ‘산학협력 연구현장 연계 고급 인력양성’ 사업의 사전과제(‘학연산 기반 달·화성 탐사 핵심부품 기술개발을 위한 고급연구인력 양성’)에 최종 선정되었습니다.

Unmanned Exploration Laboratory (UEL) is opening a new chapter in space exploration alongside Hanyang University ERICA and South Korea’s leading aerospace institutions and companies!
We are proud to announce our selection for the preliminary project under the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) ’s ‘Industry-Academia Collaborative Research-Field Linked Advanced Talent Fostering Program’—titled ‘Fostering Advanced Research Personnel for Core Component Technology Development in Lunar and Martian Exploration based on Academia-Research-Industry Collaboration.’
Led by Hanyang University ERICA, this initiative brings together 36 participating companies and organizations, including UEL as a co-lead partner alongside Vitzro Nextech, HanyangENG, and Perigee Aerospace, as well as various government-funded research institutes and public agencies.
As the key driving forces of South Korea’s space exploration technology unite, UEL will leverage its proprietary rover and space exploration technology to dedicate full effort to developing core component technologies for lunar and Martian missions and training next-generation talent.

무인탐사연구소가 자체 개발한 달 탐사 로버 'SCARAB(쇠똥구리)'의 달 탐사를 위해 글로벌 민간 달 탐사 기업 ispace와 협력 미팅을 가졌습니다.

이번 미팅을 통해 양사는 2028년 초 예정된 달 탐사 임무의 성공적인 미션 완수를 목표로, 구체적인 기술 연계 방안 및 비즈니스 협력안을 조율했습니다.

그 동안 구축해 온 파트너십과 신뢰를 바탕으로, 무인탐사연구소의 로버 기술과 ispace의 착륙선 인프라가 만들어낼 시너지가 달 표면에서 실질적인 성과로 이어질 수 있도록 개발 및 준비 프로세스에 전력을 다하겠습니다.

UEL held a cooperation meeting with the global private lunar exploration company ispace for the lunar mission of UEL’s proprietary lunar rover, 'SCARAB'

Through this meeting, both parties coordinated specific plans for technological integration and business cooperation, aiming for the successful completion of the lunar exploration mission scheduled for early 2028.

Based on the partnership and trust built over the years, we will dedicate our full efforts to the development and preparation processes, ensuring that the synergy between UEL's rover technology and ispace's lander infrastructure delivers tangible achievements on the lunar surface.

도쿄에서 개최된 아시아 최대 우주 비즈니스 컨퍼런스 ‘Spacetide 2026’에서 무인탐사연구소가 글로벌 우주 민간 기업 Blue Origin과 미팅을 진행했습니다.
​ 이번 미팅을 통해 무인탐사연구소의 Blue Origin과 2027년 아르테미스 CLPS(상업성 달 착륙선 서비스) 임무를 통한 달 탐사 계획의 구체적인 협력 방안을 논의했습니다.
​ 무인탐사연구소는 이번 협의를 발판 삼아 대한민국 민간 우주 기술이 글로벌 무대에서 실질적인 성과로 이어질 수 있도록 기술 고도화에 더욱 박차를 가하겠습니다.

​At Spacetide 2026 in Tokyo, Asia's premier space business conference, UEL held a strategic meeting with the global aerospace leader, Blue Origin.
​ During the meeting, we discussed concrete cooperation plans regarding our lunar exploration initiatives utilizing 2027 Artemis CLPS mission.
​ Leveraging this fruitful discussion, UEL will further accelerate our technological advancements to ensure that South Korea’s private space technologies deliver tangible achievements on the global stage.

한국지질자원연구원(KIGAM)에서 개최된 한국우주자원에너지학회 제1회 기술워크샵 '우주 자원을 활용하는 시대 이제 열리다'에 무인탐사연구소 구성원들이 참여했습니다.

Members of the UEL recently attended the 1st Technical Workshop of the Korean Society for Space Resources & Energy, held at the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM). The workshop was inspiringly themed: "The Era of Utilizing Space Resources Has Now Begun."
​ The event featured deep, insightful discussions on space resource exploration and utilization—both of which are poised to become the core of the future space industry. It was a profoundly meaningful opportunity for UEL to share its future vision and blueprint for Lunar Resource Extraction and In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) technologies, while exploring potential collaborations with leading experts from academia and industry.

​ Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and the Korea Aerospace Administration (KASA) dispatched a public-private delegation to expand space cooperation with the EU, NATO, and Eastern European nations, while supporting Korean space enterprises in entering global markets. We are thrilled to share that UEL joined this meaningful journey as part of the delegation!
​ During the visit, UEL met with key European space organizations to showcase the immense potential and excellence of Korea’s space exploration technologies. We shared our blueprint for upcoming Lunar and Mars exploration missions, laying a solid foundation for future global partnerships.

무인탐사연구소 연구진은 달 및 화성탐사 기술에 대한 발표들을 진행하였습니다.

The 2026 Space Conference of the Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences (KSAS) was held at the Paradise Hotel Busan from June 24th to 26th.
​ Researchers from the UEL delivered insightful presentations on cutting-edge lunar and Mars exploration technologies.
​ Moving forward, we will continue to lead the way in securing and advancing South Korea’s space exploration capabilities.
