Corrosion Surveys
Anytime you have metal in contact with seawater or fresh water you will have corrosion. By installing and MAINTAINING sacrificial anodes on your vessel, boat lift, or sea wall. The “sacrificial anodes” are consumed in the corrosion process instead of expensive underwater metals on your vessel.
Over time the sacrificial anodes are consumed and need to be replaced (once wasted by 50%).
Unprotected metals can corrode very quickly, causing leaks (through-hull fittings), reduction in performance (propellors) and even breakdowns (propellor shafts, lower units, sail drives etc). All of these problems can result in vessel downtime and expensive repairs.
Marine Surveyors Cayman has the capabilities and experience to conduct corrosion surveys to determine if your boat or other asset has sufficient “cathodic protection” with functioning “sacrificial anodes”.
Marine Surveyors Cayman also conduct tests for stray current, which can be very aggressive and very dangerous.
