Meet Hazel Burke, Recruiter, SteppingStones Recruitment

There's something refreshing about a recruiter who genuinely loves people and Hazel is exactly that.

Originally from Dublin, Hazel joined SteppingStones in July 2025 after moving to the Cayman Islands the year before. She brings a background that's a little different from the typical recruitment CV: a Bachelor's in English & Linguistics from UCD, two Master's degrees from Dublin City University in Psychology and Work & Organizational Psychology, and time spent on the executive search team at PwC Ireland, placing C-suite and senior leaders across the public and private sectors.

That academic curiosity hasn't slowed down. Hazel has published research in the Journal of Cancer Survivorship and calls herself an "eternal student" always learning, always asking questions.

At SteppingStones, Hazel works as a generalist recruiter across a range of mandates, bringing that same people-first curiosity to every client and candidate conversation.

Outside the office, you'll find her on a pitch or a court somewhere Gaelic football, touch rugby, pickleball or planning her next trip. In fact, it was a love of travel that first brought her to Cayman.

A special shoutout to our incredible summer intern, Tyler, who wrapped up his time with us last Friday after an amazing month with the team.

What a fantastic evening at this month’s Tech Talk hosted by Cayman Enterprise City ! 👏

We were proud to be part of an insightful discussion exploring how AI is reshaping recruitment and the growing challenge of candidate fraud in today’s hiring landscape.

A huge congratulations to our recruiter, Hazel, who did an incredible job moderating the panel. She was joined by four industry experts, including our Tech Recruiter, Sev, whose insights and real-world experience added so much value to the conversation.
