Congratulations to Stuff the Bus for celebrating 10 years of helping students across the Cayman Islands with their annual school supply drive! 🔟💛

File-Safe Ltd. and Cay-Shred Ltd. have been happy to support Stuff the Bus since 2018. This year we donated 60 new backpacks. 🎒

Donations benefit a variety of nonprofit groups in Cayman including Family Resource Centre, Cayman Islands Crisis Centre, NCVO Children Services Programmes and Children & Youth Services (CAYS) Foundation.

The Cayman Islands Government has issued a Hurricane Warning for Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman. Hurricane conditions are likely within the next 24 hours.

🌪️ Current Storm Info:
Hurricane Beryl is located at 16.6°N, 74.4°W, approximately 430 miles ESE of Grand Cayman.
Maximum sustained winds: 145 mph
Movement: WNW at 20 mph

🌧️ Expected Weather Conditions for Grand Cayman:
Overcast skies with widespread thunderstorms starting Wednesday night.
Tropical storm conditions expected by early Thursday morning as Hurricane Beryl approaches.
Widespread flooding anticipated, risk reducing by evening as the storm moves away.
Extremely rough seas, significant swells, and some storm surge peaking around Thursday morning.

Happy 5th Birthday GDPR! 🎉🔒
Introduced on 25 May 2018 to ensure the consistent application of data protection regulations throughout the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has paved the way for numerous other jurisdictions to follow suit. These include the Cayman Islands with the Data Protection Law (DPL) introduced on 30 September 2019.
With cumulative penalties just shy of 4 billion Euros, and an average fine of almost 250,000 Euros, the seven data protection principles of GDPR are not to be taken lightly.
Earlier this month, GDPR saw it’s biggest penalty yet, levied against Meta Ireland, in the amount of 1.2 billion Euros. 💶

Thanks to our video and security systems installed by Global Security Services Limited we are able to monitor our facility throughout the storm.

Storm preparations were completed over the weekend well ahead of the arrival of Hurricane Ian.

Vehicles were moved, doors were secured, computers were backed up (thanks, Alex) and exterior items were strapped down.

🌀The offices of Cay-Shred Ltd. and File-Safe Ltd. will remain closed until the all-clear is issued for Grand Cayman.
