XMT Supporting Practical and Responsible AI Adoption to Enhance Organizational Productivity for the Central Lao Women’s Union
At XM Technovator (XMT), our focus is not simply on introducing AI tools. We work to translate emerging technologies into practical skills, workflows and organizational capabilities that Lao leaders and professionals can confidently apply in their everyday work.
On 21–22 September 2026, XMT served as the technical training partner for the two-day workshop “Practical and Responsible AI for Organizational Productivity” for the Central Lao Women’s Union, with support from The Asia Foundation, at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Vientiane Capital.
The programme reached 117 participants, including 107 government and state officials, representing a wide range of leadership, management and operational functions.
Participants came from across the Central Lao Women’s Union as well as 10 ministries and other state institutions, creating a valuable opportunity to connect leadership-level understanding of AI with its practical use in day-to-day organizational work.
The closing ceremony was jointly chaired by Ms. Ali Vongnobountham, President of the Central Lao Women’s Union, and Ms. Khaliungoo Ganbat, Country Representative of The Asia Foundation in Lao PDR.
For XMT, one of the most important aspects of this programme was its strong learning-by-doing approach. Rather than focusing primarily on AI theory, the training was designed around real workplace challenges.
Participants practiced using AI for effective prompting, official documents, translation and summarization, project analysis and monitoring, management briefs and proposals. They also explored how AI can support the full meeting workflow—from voice recording and transcription to meeting summaries, structured minutes, action items, responsible persons and follow-up deadlines.
To help learning continue beyond the two-day workshop, XMT also developed reusable training resources, including an AI Prompt Library with more than 250 prompts, recommended AI tools, frameworks, templates and project components. Participants worked in groups to apply these resources to real tasks and workplace scenarios.
A central principle throughout the programme was Responsible AI.
For XMT, AI capability is not only about knowing what AI can do. It is equally important to understand when and how it should be used, what information should or should not be shared with AI systems, how outputs should be verified, and why human accountability must remain at the centre of decision-making.
The training therefore emphasized information verification, bias, privacy and confidentiality, AI hallucinations, risk management and human oversight.
The significance of the programme also goes beyond individual technical skills. Participants represented multiple levels of the organization—from senior leadership and management to technical officers. This matters because sustainable digital transformation requires more than individual AI users; it requires leaders who understand the opportunities and risks of AI, managers who can guide its adoption, and staff who can confidently apply it in their daily work.
From XMT’s perspective, the longer-term impact we aim to support is therefore not simply “more people using AI.” It is better organizational work: reducing time spent on repetitive tasks, improving the quality and consistency of documents, strengthening project monitoring, making information easier to analyze, improving communication, and allowing leaders and teams to spend more time on higher-value and strategic responsibilities.
For women leaders in particular, stronger AI literacy can help build confidence to participate in and guide digital transformation—not simply as users of technology, but as leaders capable of asking the right questions, identifying risks, supervising how AI is adopted and ensuring that technology continues to serve organizational and human priorities.
We sincerely thank the Central Lao Women’s Union for its trust, leadership and active participation, and The Asia Foundation for supporting this important investment in digital capacity development.
At XMT, we believe that successful AI transformation starts with people—not technology.
Our goal is to continue helping Lao institutions and professionals move beyond simply “using AI” toward using AI practically, productively, safely and responsibly.
