In a recent climate talk contest organized by the Lao Youth Union in partnership with Save the Children International in Laos, two young climate champions were recognized for their innovative solutions to environmental challenges.

The first prize was awarded to a 14-year-old boy from Luang Prabang, who plans to transform his school into a climate-resilient institution in response to the severe floods and extreme heat impacting his community. The second prize went to a 14-year-old girl from Vientiane, who intends to leverage social media to advocate for environmental solutions, including efforts to reduce plastic waste.

Both winners will receive grants to support their initiatives, which include organizing awareness campaigns about the effects of climate change. They will also represent Lao youth at upcoming climate forums, amplifying their voices on global platforms.
