ພະນັກງານບໍລິສັດ ພູເບ້ຍ ມາຍນິງ ແບ່ງປັນເລື່ອງອາຊີບຂອງຕົນເນື່ອງໃນວັນກຳມະກອນສາກົນ

ໃນໂອກາດຄົບຮອບ 140 ປີ ຂອງວັນກໍາມະກອນສາກົນ, ບໍລິສັດ ພູເບ້ຍ ມາຍນິງ ຮັບຮູ້ພະນັກງານທຸກຄົນ ທີ່ໄດ້ອຸທິດຕົນ, ມີຄວາມມຸ້ງໝັ້ນ ແລະ ປະກອບສ່ວນ ເຂົ້າໃນການເຕີບໂຕ ແລະ ຈະເລີນກ້າວໜ້າຂອງບໍລິສັດ ຢູ່ ປະເທດລາວ.

ບໍລິສັດ ພູເບ້ຍ ມາຍນິງ ເຊິ່ງເປັນສ່ວນໜຶ່ງຂອງບໍລິສັດ ແພນອອສ໌ – ເປັນບໍລິສັດໃນເຄື່ອຂອງບໍລິສັດກວ່າງຕົງ ຣາຍຊິງ ໂຮລດິງ ກຼຸບ (GDRH) ມີຄວາມມຸ້ງໝັ້ນໃຫ້ການຈ້າງງານໄລຍະຍາວ ແລະ ຄວາມໝັ້ນຄົງໃນອາຊີບວຽກງານ ໃຫ້ກັບພະນັກງານ 3,884 ຄົນ ຢູ່ ລາວ. ໂດຍສອດຄ່ອງກັບຂີດໝາຍສຳຄັນດັ່ງກ່າວນີ້, ບໍລິສັດຍັງສືບຕໍ່ດຳເນີນທຸລະກິດດ້ວຍການຍຶດຖືຄຸນນະທໍາຫຼັກຂອງ GDRH ຄື FAITH: ຈຸດສຸມ (Focus), ການປະຕິບັດ (Actions), ນະວັດຕະກໍາ (Innovation), ເຕັກໂນໂລຊີ (Technology), ແລະ ວາງຄົນເປັນທີ່ຕັ້ງ (Human-oriented).

ວຽງວິສິດ ເລີ່ມເຮັດວຽກກັບບໍລິສັດ ພູເບ້ຍ ມາຍນິງ ໃນປີ 2016 ໂດຍເຂົ້າຮ່ວມພະແນກຂຸດຄົ້ນຂອງໂຄງການ ພູຄໍາ ເປັນພະນັກງານຂະແໜງບໍລິຫານ. ຫຼັງຈາກນັ້ນ 8 ປີ ໃນປີ 2024, ໂດຍສອດຄ່ອງກັບຍຸດທະສາດການພັດທະນາແຮງງານທ້ອງຖິ່ນຂອງບໍລິສັດ, ວຽງວິສິດ ໄດ້ຖືກເລື່ອນຕໍາແໜ່ງຂຶ້ນເປັນຮອງຜູ້ຈັດການພະແນກບໍລິຫານ. ລາວກ່າວວ່າ ຕະຫຼອດຫຼາຍປີທີ່ຜ່ານມາ ລາວໄດ້ມີໂອກາດເຕີບໂຕໃນອາຊີບວຽກງານ ແລະ ມີໄລຍະເວລາທີ່ໜ້າຈົດຈໍາຫຼາຍຢ່າງໃນການເຮັດວຽກກັບບໍລິສັດ ພູເບ້ຍ ມາຍນິງ ຮ່ວມທັງການສະໜັບສະໜູນຈາກບໍລິສັດ ແພນອອສ໌ ແລະ GDRH ໃນການພັດທະນາທັກສະ ແລະ ການເຕີບໂຕໃນອາຊີບວຽກງານຂອງພະນັກງານລາວ.

In commemorating the 140th anniversary of International Labour Day, Phu Bia Mining acknowledges its employees for their dedication, commitment and contribution to the prosperity and growth of the Company in Laos.

As a tribute to International Labour Day, Phu Kham Mining Department Administration Superintendent, Viengvisith Inthalangsy and Keanchanh Chanthapuvong share their heartwarming career perspective and journeys.

Viengvisith commenced employment with Phu Bia Mining in 2016, joining the Phu Kham Mining Department as Administration Officer. Eight years later in 2024 and aligned with the Company’s localisation strategy, Viengvisith was promoted to the role of Administration Superintendent. Viengvisith said that over the years he has had the opportunity to grow his career and has many memorable moments working with Phu Bia Mining including PanAust and GDRH’s support to skills development and career growth for Lao-national employees.

“At Phu Bia Mining, I have gained new knowledge and skills from participating in multiple in-house training programs which help me with career progression, enabling my confidence in mining administrative supervision. The opportunity also afforded me a visit to GDRH Guangzhou Headquarter in Guangdong Province, the People’s Republic of China where I was immersed to the new culture of FAITH and have since applied the learnings to my routine tasks.

“As we celebrate International Labour Day, I am proud and pleased to share that Phu Bia Mining employees especially Lao-nationals are a great workforce. In my role, I see how everyone contributes to the growth of the business and our host communities,” said Vienvisith.

Keanchanh Chanthapuvong, Senior Housekeeping Supervisor and Trainer joined the Company in 2011 and has provided housekeeping duties and oversight, looking after the hygiene and comfort for all incoming and outgoing employees, contractors and visitors.

“Personally, maintaining and uplifting the hygiene in the camp facilities is a priority for me to make sure that every area stays clean. Daily, when all camp rooms are well equipped and managed, our employees can rest and sleep well.

“As we are a large family, I continue to nurture the core value of GDRH Human-Oriented approach where we care and look after each other as our family member. I am proud of what I do, I use my housekeeping skills to care for all employees, contractors and visitors while they are on site,” said Keanchanh.

On Friday, 27 March, the Government of Laos played Phu Bia Mining (PBM) in a friendly football competition. Apart from the games, the afternoon offered a great networking opportunity. The PBM team, led by Senior Manager External Affairs and Business Support, Manilath Arounlangsy, played with lots of energy in both games. Four men’s teams representing the Geology and Mines Department - Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Investment Promotion and Management Committee and the Environment Department - Ministry of Agriculture and Environment played with PBM fielding one. PBM played the Geology and Mines Department in their first round coming out defeated with a score of 1-3. In the third-place match, PBM played the Environment Department and sealed victory with 5-2. This sent the PBM supporters wild with cheers amping up with every score PBM put away. In the final, the Investment Promotion and Management Committee beat the Geology and Mines Department 5-2.

The evening concluded with Manilath presenting a trophy and thanking the Government for accepting their invitation to participate in the competition. Many PBM and Government officials later stuck around to share a beer or two and enjoy Lao delicacies.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Phu Bia Mining (PBM) is proud to be a part of inspiring all women by sharing the perspective and story of one of our outstanding team members from the recent Safety Awards ceremony.

Today, we would like to introduce you to another of our outstanding female personnel, Ms. Nammim Keomany, our Senior Safety Officer. Nammim’s journey with us began in 2022 as an ADT Operator Level 1. Her career path is a true testament to the success that comes from pure dedication. Although she did not attend university, Nammim has consistently focused on self-improvement. Since secondary school (Year 7), she has dedicated herself to learning English through both classroom study and independent learning. This passion for self-development was her vital starting point, enabling her to perform her duties as a Safety Officer effectively, where clear communication is paramount.

Turning Challenges into Professional Growth in a fast-paced work environment, Nammim carries the heavy responsibility of ensuring the safety of a large number of employees. Balancing 'productivity' with 'safety standards' is no easy task. "Sometimes, communicating safety measures across various departments and different levels of staff can be challenging," Nammim explains. "But these challenges have helped me develop my leadership skills and build more self-confidence. It has taught me to be detail-oriented and always remain vigilant. At the same time, I see these obstacles as opportunities for growth—acting as a drive for me to learn more, think clearly, and deliver my best potential."

Safety as a Way of Life for Nammim, the importance of safety has become more than just a workplace rule; it has become her way of life. By applying the discipline and risk assessment skills learned from her work to her personal life, she has become a more responsible person, ready to protect herself and those around her.

Recognition and Dedication on the night of February 27th, at this year Safety Awards ceremony, Nammim was awarded the '2025 Distinguished Individual for Workplace Safety of the GDRH' based on GDRH’s safety recognition criteria, she has been selected by her supervisor for the “Hazard Workplace Improvement’ Program”. This nomination recognizes my efforts in enhancing safety standards and mitigating risks in our workspace. This achievement recognizes her crucial role in hazard identification and prompt corrective actions. Regarding this award, Nammim stated, "I feel incredibly proud and honored to receive this award." She further added, "This award does not belong to me alone; it is a result of great teamwork. It confirms that our dedication to creating a safe environment is recognized, and this serves as an inspiration for me to strive to do even better every single day."

Finally, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Nammim expresses her deep gratitude for the opportunities provided by the company. She is proud to be part of an organization that supports women in playing key roles in the technical and safety sectors.

"I would like to thank my team, the managers, and everyone who has believed in my abilities," Nammim said. "I believe that with the company's commitment to supporting the role of women, we can all continue to lead our organization toward even greater success."

The second Safety Award Night for 2025 was conducted on 27th February at Lao Plaza, Vientiane where awards for the category winners and runners up and the Overall winner and runner up were presented. The Safety Award Night was a culmination of 12 months’ dedication and project ex*****on by the Risk Department in establishing the Safety Award Program.

The PBM Safety Award Program provides an opportunity to recognize and reward creative initiatives and or innovations that target specific safety issues and or result in a signification reduction in risk.
A key part of the Safety Award Program is the opportunity for all entrants to present their initiatives /innovation at a Safety Award Fair as a Poster and engage with the workforce to explain their submission. For the 2025 Safety Awards we had 26 entries from across PBM Operations, including 2 contractors. Votes from the workforce who attended the Safety Award Fairs contributed to the overall scoring process, which included 10 independent judges.

There were a number of key phases in the overall process in establishing the Safety Award Program, including some innovation from the Risk Department team, including; development of the recognition and category criteria, Safety Award Program communications and computer screen images, on-line submission App and process, Safety Award Fair, Submission Posters guidance and template, Safety Award Fair voting App, Judges Assessment criteria and tool and Safety Award Night.

We hope that the program encourages employees and contractors to bring forth safety innovations and or initiatives that can contribute and improve PBM’s safety culture and performance as well as reduce risk in the workplace.

From 9–11 February, the PBM Communications Team hosted a high-level site visit for senior representatives from the Government of Laos (GoL) and leading national media outlets. The visit focused on three critical areas of our operations: Cyanide Code Compliance, environmental management initiatives and progress at the LCT Underground project.

Representing several Government departments were:

Mr Somsack Sakounkham, Deputy Head of Mass Media Department, Propaganda & Training Board

The delegation was joined by journalists from Lao National TV, Lao National Radio, Vientiane Times, Vientiane Mai, Pasaxon, Lao News Agency (KPL), PathetLao and Socio-Economic.

These visits are a vital part of building trusted, transparent and long-term relationships with two of our most important stakeholders: Government of Laos and the national media. To collect and document information on project implementation, including areas such as economic development, health, safety, environmental management, and social development activities.

During 28-29 Jan 2026, three members of Phu Bia Mining (PBM) Fire and Emergency Service (FES) team were invited by Xiengkhouang provincial fire and rescue to attend a two-day training session which was conducted at Xiengkhouang Provincial Public Health Department’s Meeting Room.
The training topics included Basic Life Support (CPR), First Aid – Respiratory Emergencies. These training sessions are aimed at build rapport with our local communities and giving them the skills to assist community members if the need arises.
