Israel and Iran, Two Sides of the Same Crime

Lebanon is currently experiencing extreme tensions due to the war Israel is waging against Hezbollah—a conflict that intensified following recent military escalations in southern Lebanon. These clashes are part of the longstanding conflict between the two sides. Additionally, Hezbollah stands as a major military force in the region, receiving substantial Iranian support both financially and militarily, making it a powerful and influential regional player. Iranian interventions in Lebanon extend beyond military support for Hezbollah and also encompass political and economic dimensions. Tehran views Hezbollah as a strategic arm in the region that it can leverage to impose its influence on the international stage, particularly in the context of the conflict with Israel. This dynamic has led to escalating internal tensions in Lebanon, where the Shiite party is seen by many Lebanese factions, especially those in the opposition, as a dominant force that surpasses state authority and operates according to foreign agendas that do not serve Lebanon's national interests.
This war comes at a time when Lebanon is suffering from a severe economic crisis, with an almost complete collapse of its infrastructure and financial system, leaving the country in a state of extreme weakness. Regional and international interventions have further complicated the crisis, as some internal actors believe that continued military and financial support from Iran to Hezbollah hinders efforts to achieve full Lebanese sovereignty and keep it away from regional conflicts. There is also fear that the crisis will worsen if the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel persists, which could lead to an all-out war, destroying what little stability remains in the country, a reality all indicators confirm. However, Hezbollah holds a significant responsibility in determining the course of the war, as its leaders are aware that the conflict will only end with the relinquishment of their weapons. It is regrettable that the Iranian regime is pushing Hezbollah, and through it, Lebanon, toward ruin and destruction. Hezbollah is no longer what it once was and will never return to its former state; the blows it has received are so severe and decisive that it is impossible to rehabilitate the party on all levels, especially as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is determined not to back down until Hezbollah is completely eliminated, down to the last fighter. Iran must stop supporting Hezbollah and cease encouraging it to pursue a dead-end war, doomed to failure. Otherwise, it will be seen as complicit with Israel in its crimes.
I call upon Hezbollah, with its sense of patriotism, ethics, humanity, and faith, to hand over its arsenal to the Lebanese army, the sole guarantee of Lebanon’s revival, and to sever its dependency on the Iranian regime that has turned the country into a battleground and taken the Lebanese hostage to serve its own interests. Similarly, I urge the official Lebanese authorities, especially the outgoing Prime Minister, to cut diplomatic ties with Iran, expel the Iranian ambassador, and no longer welcome Iranian envoys for any mediation or negotiation, except those focused on halting the war and ending the bloodshed, in order to dissuade the Islamic Republic from maintaining its blatant interference in Lebanese affairs. It is also essential to ask the United Nations, through the Security Council, to convene immediately to curb Israel’s destructive and senseless momentum and keep Lebanon safe from all regional conflicts while activating Lebanese diplomacy to engage with all nations, particularly the world’s decision-making centers, to achieve Lebanon’s positive and active neutrality.

يشهد لبنان حاليًا حالة من التوترات الشديدة بسبب الحرب التي تخوضها إسرائيل ضد حزب الله، وهي حرب ازدادت حدة بعد التصعيد العسكري الأخير في جنوب لبنان. تأتي هذه المواجهات في إطار الصراع الطويل بين الطرفين، ويضاف إلى ذلك أن حزب الله يُعَد قوة عسكرية كبرى في المنطقة، ويحظى بدعم إيراني كبير سواء على الصعيد المالي أو العسكري، مما يجعله لاعبًا إقليميًا قويًا ومؤثرًا
تدخلات إيران في لبنان لا تقتصر على الدعم العسكري لحزب الله، بل تشمل أيضًا الأبعاد السياسية والاقتصادية. ترى طهران في حزب الله ذراعًا استراتيجيًا في المنطقة يمكنها استخدامه لفرض نفوذها على الساحة الدولية، خصوصًا في سياق الصراع مع إسرائيل. وقد أدت هذه الديناميكية إلى تصاعد التوترات الداخلية في لبنان، حيث يُنظر إلى الحزب الشيعي من قبل العديد من الأحزاب اللبنانية، وخاصة تلك المعارضة، كقوة مهيمنة تتجاوز سلطة الدولة وتعمل وفق أجندات خارجية لا تخدم المصالح الوطنية اللبنانية
تأتي هذه الحرب في وقت يعاني فيه لبنان من أزمة اقتصادية شديدة، مع انهيار شبه كامل في بنيته التحتية ونظامه المالي، مما يجعله في وضع ضعيف للغاية. وقد زادت التدخلات الإقليمية والدولية من تعقيد الأزمة، حيث يرى بعض الفاعلين الداخليين أن استمرار الدعم العسكري والمالي الإيراني لحزب الله يعرقل الجهود الرامية إلى تحقيق السيادة الكاملة للبنان وإبعاده عن الصراعات الإقليمية. كما يخشى من تفاقم الأزمة إذا استمر الصراع بين حزب الله وإسرائيل، مما قد يؤدي إلى حرب شاملة، تدمّر ما تبقى من استقرار في البلاد، خاصة أن جميع المؤشرات تؤكد هذه الحقيقة. ومع ذلك، فإن حزب الله يتحمل مسؤولية كبيرة في تحديد مسار الحرب، حيث يدرك قادته أن الصراع لن ينتهي إلا بتخليهم عن أسلحتهم. ومن المؤسف أن النظام الإيراني يدفع الحزب، ومن خلاله لبنان، نحو الهاوية والدمار.
لم يعد حزب الله كما كان، ولن يعود أبدًا إلى ما كان عليه، حيث إن الضربات التي تلقاها كانت قاسية وحاسمة، لدرجة أنه من المستحيل إعادة تأهيل الحزب على جميع المستويات، خصوصًا وأن رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو مصمم على عدم التراجع قبل القضاء التام على حزب الله، حتى آخر مقاوم. يجب على إيران أن تتوقف عن دعم حزب الله وتوقف تحريضه على متابعة حرب لا مخرج منها، محكوم عليها بالفشل. وإلا، فستُعتبر شريكة لإسرائيل في جرائمها
أطالب حزب الله، باسم الوطنية وباسم الأخلاق، وكذلك بإحساسه الإنساني والإيماني، أن يسلم ترسانته إلى الجيش اللبناني، الضمانة الوحيدة لنهضة لبنان، وأن يقطع علاقات التبعية للنظام الإيراني الذي حول البلاد إلى ساحة حرب وأخذ اللبنانيين رهائن لخدمة مصالحه. كما أطالب السلطات الرسمية اللبنانية، وخاصة رئيس الوزراء المستقيل، بقطع العلاقات الدبلوماسية مع إيران، وطرد السفير الإيراني وعدم استقبال المبعوثين الإيرانيين لأي وساطة أو تفاوض، باستثناء التفاوض المتعلق بوقف الحرب ووقف نزيف الدماء، من أجل ردع الجمهورية الإسلامية عن مواصلة هذا التدخل الصارخ في الشؤون اللبنانية
ومن الضروري أيضًا طلب من الأمم المتحدة، عبر مجلس الأمن، عقد اجتماع فوري لكبح جماح النزعة التدميرية والعبثية لإسرائيل، وحماية لبنان من جميع الصراعات الإقليمية، وتفعيل الدبلوماسية اللبنانية للتواصل مع جميع الدول، وخاصة مع مراكز القرار في العالم، لتحقيق الحياد الإيجابي والفاعل للبنان
