A farewell message for our community of playmates:
We came together as a team in 2017 because each one of us felt stagnated in our professional lives. Depleted, stifled in our creativity, and resenting the rigid 9-5, we believed, fundamentally, that adulting should not be like this; that adults deserve at work what children experience at play: a sense of immersion, fulfillment, and wonder! So together, we founded In Playful Company, formerly L3b.
Our desire to play more freely with ideas and possibilities brought us together as a team with a renewed enthusiasm for work and life.
Since then, we’ve had the delight and privilege of playing with wonderful people; individuals and groups who, like us, believed in the power of play to transform the way we engage with the world around us.
Perhaps life is a series of games that connect to create this grand adventure, this journey that we embark on from the moment we are born. Some of these games last a lifetime, others end, as many games do. If we play them well, then each of these games becomes a joyful learning experience that brings meaning and awe to our everyday lives and prepares us for the next part of our journey.
Today, our game as a team has come to an end. And we feel immense gratitude for having had the wonderful and unique experience of playing together and expanding each others’ horizons in unexpected ways. We are also grateful for all our playmates from the many organizations we have worked with. Playmates who have helped us deepen our learning, expand our imagination, and strengthen our resolve that when each one of us plays well, the game of life becomes less about winning and losing, and more about continuing to play with joy, excitement and curiosity.
This time, each one of us embarks on their separate journey, their new game. And we are excited to discover what that will look like in the future. However things turn out, we will surely take with us the fascination, gratitude, and connection we experienced with one another throughout. We will continue to play freely and with an ever renewed enthusiasm for work and life and wish that our community who have supported our mission will continue to do the same.
