A tailored blazer, simple white t shirt, black leggings, and a cool pair of oxfords is so chic and polished. This is one of my favorite looks for fall and it is a great look for a weekday meeting or lunch date.

This weekend I worked with a wonderful client who just started a new job and was looking to build her work wardrobe with timeless and stylish pieces that would work for the casual business environement she works in but also for running errands and going out on the weekends. We ended up finding several amazing piece to start her new wardrobe, including a colorful blazer, black dressy pants, dark skinny jeans , a pair of ankle boots, and several of the items featured in this roundup as well. I also found this DVF sequin sweater for myself which was heavily marked down. It may not exactly be a wardrobe essential but it is definitely a super cozy and fun sweater.

A clean, crisp, and classic white shirt is a wardrobe staple regardless of your age or personal style. It can be dressed down with a pair of jeans and heels for a fun and relaxed look or dressed up with a flowy skirt for night on the town. For a chic and sophisticated work look pair up a fitted white with a pencil skirt and heels

Last night we finished up Season 3 of House of Cards and it was so good but I won't spill any details in case you're not caught up. So let's talk about the sexy simplicity of Claire Underwood's style instead. Her outfits are always perfectly tailored, she always looks so put together, and I love how her style is full of confidence and sophistication. Claire typically wears a lot of neutral colors and black, tailored sheath dresses, and crisp and structured button ups with tight pencil skirts. She uses wide belts to cinch and emphasize her small waist, keeps her jewelry to a minimum, and she can always be seen with a beautiful and classic investment tote. What do you think? Do you like her minimalist chic style?

The recently warmed up weather has me craving spring more than ever! One of my favorite trends of the moment is finding everything in blush pink. Since the majority of my wardrobe is black, white, and n**e. Blush is a welcomed new and fresh neutral. Above are some of the pieces & beauty products I love right now.

1. NARS Blush in Or**sm: I use NARS powered products exclusively and Or**sm is a cult classic. It’s natural and gives the perfect amount of shimmer.

2. HATCH “The Short” : When Refinery29 highlighted HATCH’s new Spring/Summer line I fell in love…with every piece. Their pieces are simple, unique, and chicly loose. These shorts are the perfect summer staple.

3. Tibi Leather Short Sleeve top: Leather & blush, what more could I have asked for? Tibi nailed it out of the park with this simple and chic top.

4. Zara Round Neck Coat with Zip :One thing Zara does exceptionally well are coats and this simple blush number is exactly what I want for spring.

5. Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in 60’s Pink : More and more I am hearing about how amazing Laura Mercier lip products are. This lip color is top on my list of things to buy on my next Sephora trip.

6 OPI Bubble Bath : This is my favorite barely there, just pink enough n**e nail. It looks especially great when done in gel.

7. J.Crew Sophie Small Crossbody Bag : This bag is the perfect size for running around on the weekend & major bonus

Until recently, I was a one fragrance kind of woman. I never strayed from my beloved Chanel (a choice I still included in this post - it fit the theme all too well). Lately, I have been incredibly intrigued by scents and wanted to delve into and learn more about the word of perfume. After a lot of research (and some testing) here are a few I think would be perfect for summer. I’m not an expert, so I would love to hear what fragrances you love!

Balenciaga, Rosabotanica is a woody scent with hints of green, citrus, and rose. Rosabotanica is a fresher, sheerer version of it’s sister fragrance Florabotanica. It’s earthy and fresh, a perfect choice for summer.

Chanel, Chance Eau Fraîche is actually my signature scent. I have worn it for years and until recently it was the only perfume I could stand to wear - so I’m a little biased. It is woody and citrusy with floral and slight musky tones to it. The scent is very clean and crisp.

Giorgio Armani, Acqua di Gioia is probably one of the top scents that showed up during my research for “summer fragrance”. It is citrusy and aromatic with a very green and sweet undertone. Armani himself explains that the scent was inspired by holidays spent on islands and an escape into nature. The bottle’s shape is reminiscent of a water droplet.

Maison Martin Margiela, is green and woody with tones of citrus and musk. Many say that the scent has an aroma of greenery and the earth after rain - the ultimate summer smell.

Bobbi Brown, Beach is a close runner up to my coveted Chanel. The fragrance is sandy and floral with aromatic and salty undertones. When smell this I instantly think of long days spent on the beach with nostalgic hints of sunscreen.

With the warm weather in full swing, many people are planning trips to get away, relax and recharge. From heading to the beach to jetting off to a faraway city, everyone needs some time away from the normal routine. More importantly taking a vacation is the time to employ a no fuss wardrobe. Especially when traveling to your destination it is crucial to choose a look that will be comfortable, casual and above all chic.

There are three great options for any summer jet setter, the maxi dress, jeans and a T-shirt or the sundress. You can’t go wrong with any of these looks because they are low-key yet still stylish. All you need is a sleek black maxi, sandals, a jean jacket and a casual tote and you are ready for anything. If you are more of a jeans and T-shirt girl, opt for a pair of leather sandals, a carry all and some trendy shades to complete you look. Another easy option is to opt for an easy navy shirtdress with a lightweight scarf and statement shoes. The key is to choose pieces that are versatile, comfortable and simple. With any of these looks you will be ready to relax and recharge while still looking chic and pulled together.

One of my favorite places to go for outfit inspiration is Tumblr - the site is filled with amazing street style inspo and my favorite often comes in the form of Kendall Jenner’s outfits. She has an effortless way of combining high end pieces with super causal items for a perfect blended solution. I love how she tames down a micro mini with sleek tennis shoes and a long coat.

One of the trends I have recently noticed in street style is the pleated skirt. I love the way the folds billow in the breeze and the lightweight fabric is perfect for summer, especially if you are opting for a tea length or maxi skirt. It is also an incredible addition to your wardrobe if you are looking for more conservative yet sophisticated and on trend look. The great part about the pleated skirt is it's versatility. You can choose from all different lengths and pick one that caters to your body type, height or any specific occasion.

Furthermore, this is a piece that can effortlessly transition from day to night by swapping out accessories. Add a shoulder bag for the daytime with low-key makeup and then swap it out for a statement cultch and a bold lipstick. The core of this look is very classic and simple, therefore the way you accessorize it dictates how fancy or low-key the ensemble becomes.

I have seen this look done a number of ways and the one that resonates most with me is the combination of a simple button-down or light grey sweater with the pleated skirt, lace up sandals and a structured bag. This simple collection of pieces is an effortless recipe for a chic look. It is the perfect ensemble for a running around in style, without overheating in the sun.

This week I decided to mix things up and focus on what some of my favorite pieces are to wear when I am lounging around or getting outside. I wanted to debunk the age old myth that comfort and style can't cohabitate. From comfy and stylish sweatpants to the perfect racerback tank top, these Style Finds are all incredible for a more relaxed day.

On Monday it was all about finding a sweatshirt that was comfortable and cozy, yet still fashionable. This dual Zipper DeLacy style is a combination of all those requirements, it is flattering, fashion forward and still relaxed.

On Tuesday the Outdoor Voices tank from J.Crew was the great Style Find. This top is so simple and sleek, it pairs perfectly with leggings for a run or with jeans and sandals. Either way it is incredibly stylish no matter what you are up to.

Wednesday was centered on shoes, these bright and bold Nike sneakers may just be the motivation we need in order to get up and get active.

Finally, on Thursday I focused on sweatpants. Many people don't perceive sweatpants as a piece that can be flattering and fashionable. However, this Sundry pair proves both of those ideas. The slim fit and cropped style keep these pants from being anything but a good idea. With all of these Style Finds you may find yourself craving a more relaxed day, but don't fret because these pieces prove that active wear and loungewear can be stylish and sleek.

We all have a weakness or two and mine happens to be a strong cup of coffee, a glass (or two) of cabernet wine, and fabulous designer handbags. I admit I have an obsession with really high end handbags. And while most of these handbags here are on the expensive side you can certainly find other options in a variety of price points. And regardless of your budget I have style tips that will help you find your perfect investment bag.

1. Choose a high quality bag

When looking for that perfect investment tote it is crucial to search for quality. Buy the best quality you can. This is a piece that you will be toting around to a slew of events and you don’t want to settle for anything less then amazing quality. Unlike a statement dress that may be hard to re-wear, a handbag is something that can be re-worn and so easily re-purposed in ones wardrobe.

2. Choose leather

Leather is a great fabric because it ages so well. It is one of the rare things in life that looks better as it grows older. That is why it is an amazing choice for an investment bag. You can have this piece for years and it will only get better and better, need we say more?

3. Select a neutral color you love

I am always inclined to opt for n**e, grey, or black when I am investing in bags. It is a classic and multifaceted color that can be paired with most anything. From jeans and a tank top to a little black dress, a neutral handbag can complement so many different styles, pieces and personalities.

4. Keep it structured

No matter what style you gravitate towards, geometric, linear, organic, a structural handbag is always the best idea. It will better withstand the daily wear and tear and it will easily retain its shape. The last thing you want is a saggy handbag, instead opt for a sleek and structural style that will last longer.

5. Avoid bags with large logos

Like anything, trends come and go. When you are investing in a handbag you want to try and think long term. Still go for a statement piece or head for a reputable label, but try to avoid a large logo that will scream the place of purchase. Subtlety is always chicer and it will stand the test of time.

6. Keep the hardware minimal

Olivia Palermo is a style icon that can do virtually no wrong. She perpetually seems to step out in incredible, yet simple ensembles that are flattering and timeless. Palermo is one who rarely if ever is placed on the worst dressed list because she just understands what trends fit her body, aesthetic and mood. This look is no different, it is simple pieces that all posses elegant details and combine to create a seamless look.

At first glance this look is merely two tones, black and tan. However, upon further investigation the details begin to emerge. From the patterned shorts to the textured sweater and silk top, it is the small aspects of this look that culminate in a chic ensemble. In order to recreate this look it is crucial to maintain these details or else this outfit will loose its elegance. So when shopping around, you have to be sure to look closely at each piece and invest in quality.

When you dissect this ensemble all you need is a knit sweater, silk top, black shorts, a leather tote {or this one}and black pumps. These pieces are all great basics that can transition into fall so easily. The varied textures and cohesive colors are slightly heavier pieces that will be able to be paired with leggings or jeans for a fall time look. As summer comes to a close and fall begins, try out this look on those slightly colder days as an effortless ensemble.
