The Institute of Internal Auditors – Lebanon Chapter successfully hosted a two-day workshop on artificial intelligence (AI). 🤖

The workshop title was “AI in Internal Audit: Unleashing the Beast”, bringing together a group of internal audit professionals from across . 🇱🇧

The workshop, held at Gefinor Rotana Hotel, aimed to equip internal audit professionals with the appropriate practical, ethical and governance tools that are required to integrate AI responsibly into internal audit functions, helping professionals enhance risk assessment, improve efficiency, and support data-driven decision-making.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Ms. Cynthia Merhej for delivering an engaging and insightful session, and to all participants for their active involvement and enriching discussions.

This event reflects our ongoing commitment to empowering the internal audit community with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate an evolving risk and technology landscape.

Following the release of the new Global Internal Audit Standards in January 2024, we are pleased to share with you February 2024 special issue of the “Internal Auditor ” by Global.
This special issue was a deep dive into the 5️⃣ domains of the new standards. ✅
It also featured the interview with board member Mr. Naji Fayad who was the working group leader of “Domain II: Ethics & Professionalism” of the new standards.

Following the release of the new Global Internal Audit Standards, in January 2024, the Institute of Internal Audit is organizing a "Get to Know the New Global Internal Audit Standards" free webinar for members and non-members.
This webinar aims to introduce the structure and content of the final standards enabling professionals to learn more about the implications of the new standards on internal audit functions, including chief audit executives.

🔴 Fellow members, we are glad to share with you that IIA Global announced the issuance of the new Global Internal Audit Standards after more than three years of outstanding efforts of research, drafts, and revisions. 📚

Moreover, we are pleased to share that Mr. Naji Fayad, member of Lebanon’s board was part of the IIASB team that developed those standards and led the group for developing “Domain II: Ethics and Professionalism”.
Honored to have one of IIA Lebanon’s board members participate in this historic milestone for The IIA and the Internal Audit profession.💡

The IIA released the new mandatory Global Internal Audit Standards in January 2024, after a multiyear process through which the International Internal Audit Standards Board researched and gained input from stakeholders and practitioners around the globe.
