Job description:
Operate and set up audio equipment, including microphones, mixing consoles, amplifiers, and recording devices.
Collaborate with producers, directors, and artists to understand their vision and requirements for the sound.
Record, edit, and mix audio tracks to achieve desired sound quality and balance.
Use sound effects and digital audio software to enhance audio recordings and create appropriate atmospheres.
Monitor and adjust sound levels during live events or recording sessions to ensure optimal audio quality.
Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during recording or live performances.
Collaborate with the production team to ensure synchronized audio and visual experiences.
Maintain and organize audio equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in sound engineering techniques.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while operating audio equipment.
Sound engineer required skills
Proficiency in using audio recording and editing software, such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Adobe Audition.
Strong understanding of audio equipment, including microphones, mixing consoles, audio interfaces, and speakers.
Excellent knowledge of sound engineering principles and techniques, including signal flow, frequency response, and audio processing.
Ability to operate and troubleshoot complex audio systems quickly and efficiently.
Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the production team and artists.
Attention to detail to ensure accurate sound reproduction and synchronization.
Strong problem-solving skills to address technical issues that may arise during recordings or live performances.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in different environments, such as recording studios, outdoor venues, or film sets.

Required qualifications
A bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in sound engineering, audio production, or a related field.
Previous experience working as a sound engineer in a professional setting, such as live reinforcement, recording studios, live events, or film production.
Proficient knowledge of industry-standard audio recording and editing software.
Familiarity with different genres of music, film, or television to understand and recreate specific sound characteristics.
Understanding of acoustics, sound reinforcement, and audio signal flow.
Knowledge of electrical principles and audio system setup.
Familiarity with current audio technology trends and advancements.
Ability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in the entertainment industry.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment during setup and breakdown.
Good problem-solving and multitasking abilities to handle unpredictable situations.
