🥇 Level 4 (8 km, approx. 2:45Hr) We will start the hike from the hills of Qehmez, one of the most spectacular villages of Mount Lebanon overlooking Nahr Ibrahim gorge. Along the way we will visit Nabi Hadwan, a walk to the sanctuary located on the steep cliff is a must to see. We will see as well the🌴 old juniper trees and then go down to visit a great and 🏛 ancient temple located near the waterfall and the impressive Afqa Grotto. There, ritual prostitution was practiced until the time of Constantine in Afqa village.

Ammiq is the biggest 💦 swamp in Lebanon (100 hectares) and one of the most important places for 🕊 migrating 🦩 birds. It has a watching 🛕 tower to observe them.

Prepare yourself for an amazing and wonderful 🥾trail in the West Bekaa district. At this ⏱️ time of the year, the color of 🌳🌴trees and 💐🪻🌺 plants, the Spring with the swamp are Extremely Impressive.
So, this hike in Ammiq is diversified. You get to 🚶 walk in the swamp and after along the edge of ⛰mountains where many trees’ species provide shade and shelter.
Our visit will begin from the entrance in Ammiq Wetland where a ❤️ warm and 💁 friendly greeting from the reserve team, accompanied by a presentation of the reserve.

The nature of the region from downstream the hill we are going to see; the hill of “Qornet el Hamra”, located at an altitude of 400 m above sea level. A big Cross stands there overlooking the area.
It will be the perfect place for hiking, will be a moderate one with some downhill, will walk around the borders of the cliff to reach the river of 🐕 Nahr El Kaleb; will have enough time for fun, photo shooting, and rest.

We will gather at 7:45 AM in front of the Nahr el Kaleb concrete bridge in Dbayeh (river side) and start our march towards the Rock of Nahr el Kaleb (Open Museum).
