Proposed Budu Madura for Polgasduwa Monastery

Inspired by the design language of the Anuradhapura era, this monument structure is designed to create a peaceful atmosphere for worshippers to calm their minds before worship. The podium space is designed with three levels. The ground level blends naturally with the existing landscape. The second level includes two pethan trees planted in built-in pots. The third level is reached through stone steps and highlighted with Korawak Gala stone murals placed at the front and both sides of the structure.

The roof is supported by eight traditionally carved wooden columns placed on top of eight stone bases. The two-step roof design creates an open and unobstructed view for both outside viewers and worshippers. The Samadhi Pilimaya is placed on a three-foot-high central podium, making it visible from all four sides.

As a design studio, we understand our social responsibility, and we carried out this project as an initiative to give back to society in our own way.

Madu House Mirihana

The ground floor living and dining areas are designed in a simple, modern tropical style that focuses on openness, comfort, and natural materials. A neutral palette of off-white walls and light flooring is balanced with warm wooden elements seen in the furniture, wall finishes, and details. The living area is arranged with a soft sofa, a wooden lounge chair, and a central coffee table, creating a cozy and functional space, while a textured rug helps define the seating zone. The dining area features a solid timber table with comfortable chairs, forming a welcoming setting for both daily use and gatherings. Large windows and glazed doors bring in natural light and connect the interior with the outdoors, softened by sheer curtains. Thoughtful lighting and ceiling fans add comfort while maintaining a calm and inviting atmosphere throughout.

The TV lobby continues the modern tropical theme, creating a relaxed and comfortable space for entertainment. A wooden feature wall with a built-in TV unit acts as the main focal point, complemented by a mix of warm timber finishes and darker cabinetry for contrast. A sectional sofa is arranged facing the TV, forming a cozy seating area with a simple coffee table at the center. Decorative items and indoor plants add freshness, while natural light from nearby openings keeps the space bright and welcoming, making it ideal for casual family time.

The study room is designed to be calm, functional, and inspiring, following the same modern tropical language. A large built-in wooden bookshelf provides generous storage and adds strong visual character to the room. The workspace includes a simple desk and a comfortable chair, creating a practical setup for work or study. Natural light enters through large openings softened by sheer curtains, while pendant lighting supports the space during the evening. The use of neutral tones and minimal decor helps maintain a quiet and focused atmosphere, making the room comfortable for productivity.

Nimesh & Udari Residence Minuwangoda

The ground floor presents a seamless open-plan living, dining, and show kitchen layout defined by a simple modern approach that emphasizes openness, natural light, and material harmony. A cohesive palette of warm timber, neutral finishes, and soft furnishings enhances the calm atmosphere, while full-height glazing strengthens the indoor–outdoor connection. The integrated show pantry and functional island counter add practicality and refined visual continuity.

The first floor offers a more private and relaxed setting, with a comfortable TV lobby and a well-designed study room. The TV area creates a cosy yet connected retreat with warm materials and clean-lined furniture, while the study room combines functionality and comfort through thoughtful planning, natural light, and built-in elements. A consistent use of earthy tones and minimal detailing ties both spaces together.

The master bedroom is designed as a warm and inviting retreat, balancing comfort and functionality. A soft, neutral palette, clean furniture, and a small seating area enhance relaxation, while the walk-in closet adds efficient storage. The use of rich wood textures and subtle modern details creates a cohesive and elegant private space.

Contemporary Residence in Kalalgoda

This home combines soft white tones with warm wooden finishes to create a calm and modern atmosphere. Shades of dark colors and gray add contrast, while lighter accents bring balance and highlight the beauty of natural textures.

Since our client appreciates darker shades, we added carefully chosen colors that make the spaces feel softer and more welcoming. The design carries this palette throughout the home, creating harmony and flow. To enrich the look, we used P/U finished teak wood, black powder-coated steel elements, and plush upholstered furniture—delivering a blend of comfort, style, and sophistication.

Every corner was thoughtfully planned. Balanced lighting and well-organized layouts keep the interiors bright, inviting, and modern. The dining area is a key feature, featuring a teak-and-steel dining set, ample natural light, and touches of greenery that add freshness to the space.

The dry kitchen adheres to the same concept, featuring a sleek bar counter, elegant stools, and handpicked art pieces that add warmth and character.
