නීලගිරිය ස්තූප සංරක්ෂණ ව්යාපෘතියේ ප්රගති සමාලෝචන රැස්වීමක් හා දැනුවත් කිරීමේ වැඩසටහනක් පසුගිය දා නීලගිරිය ස්ථූප සංරක්ෂණ ව්යාපෘති පරිශ්රයේදී පැවැත්විණි.
මෙම අවස්ථාවට නා උයන ආරණ්ය සේනාසනාධිපති කර්මස්ථානාචාර්ය අතිපූජ්ය අඟුල්ගමුවේ අරිහනන්ද මහානායක ස්ථවිරයන් වහන්සේ ප්රමුඛ මහ සංඝයා, පුරාවිද්යා අධ්යක්ෂ ජනරාල් සෙනරත් වික්රමසිංහ මයා, අධ්යක්ෂ වාස්තු විද්යා සංරක්ෂණ ප්රසන්න බී රත්නායක මයා, රාජ්ය ඉංජිනේරු සංස්ථාවේ ඉංජිනේරු සංජීව විජේසිංහ මයා, ජාතික ඉංජිනේරු පර්යේෂණ කාර්යංශයේ කපිල පීරීස් මයා, අම්පාර මඩකළපුව ප්රාදේශීය සහාකාර අධ්යක්ෂ ඩී.එස් අනුශාන් මුණසිංහ මයා, ශ්රී ලංකා ගුවන් හමුදාවේ ඉහළ නිලධාරීන්, නීලගිරි ව්යාපෘතිභාර තාක්ෂණ නිලධාරී දර්ශන වීරසේකර මහතා හා නීලගිරිය සංරක්ෂණ ව්යාපෘතියේ ව්යාපෘති භාර ගුවන් හමුදා ඉංජිනේරු නුවන් ධර්මකීර්ති මහතා, පුරාවිද්යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ වාස්තු විද්යා සංරක්ෂණ අංශයේ ප්රධාන සැලසුම් ශිල්පී ඇතුළු නිලධාරී මහත්ම මහත්මීන්, නීලගිරිය දායක සභාව නියෝජනය කරමින් ආචාර්ය නාලක මහත්මා ඇතුළු මහත්ම මහත්මීන්, කලාප අංක 10 නීලගිරිය පුරාවිද්යා කලාපයේ කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය ඇතුළු පිරිසක් මේ අවස්ථාවට සම්බන්ධ විය
පුරාවිද්යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ පුුර්ණ අධීක්ෂණය හා මග පෙන්වීම යටතේ නා උයන ආරණ්ය සේනාසනයේ මූල්ය පරිත්යාගයෙන්, ශ්රී ලංකා ගුවන් හමුදාව විසින් මෙහි සංරක්ෂණ කාර්යයන් සිදු කරනු ලබයි.
ශ්රී ලංකාවාසී මෙන්ම විදේශීය ජනතාව ද සිය ශ්රමය , ධනය , කාලය මෙම දාගැඹේ ඉඳි කිරීම් වෙනුවෙන් ලබා දෙමින් සිටින අතර ඔවුන්ට ශ්රී ලංකා පුරාවිද්යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ ගෞරව පූර්වක ස්තූතිය හිමිවේ.
Progress Review Meeting of the Neelagiriya Stupa Conservation Project
A progress review meeting and awareness programme of the Neelagiriya Stupa Conservation Project was recently held at the Neelagiriya Stupa conservation site.
The event was attended by the Chief Incumbent of Na Uyana Aranya Senasanaya, Most Venerable Agulgamuwe Arihananda Maha Nayake Thero, together with members of the Maha Sangha. Also present were the Director General of the Department of Archaeology Sri Lanka, Mr. Senarath Wickramasinghe; Director of Architectural Conservation, Mr. Prasanna B. Rathnayake; Engineer Mr. Sanjeewa Wijesinghe of the State Engineering Corporation; Mr. Kapila Peiris of the National Engineering Research and Development Centre; Regional Assistant Director (Ampara–Batticaloa), Mr. D. S. Anushan Munasinghe; senior officers of the Sri Lanka Air Force; Neelagiriya Project Technical Officer Mr. Darshana Weerasekara; Air Force Project Engineer Mr. Nuwan Dharmakeerthi; the Chief Design Officer and officials of the Architectural Conservation Division of the Department of Archaeology; representatives of the Neelagiriya Dayaka Sabha including Dr. Nalaka; and staff members of Archaeological Zone No. 10, Neelagiriya.
The conservation work of the Neelagiriya Stupa is being carried out by the Sri Lanka Air Force under the full supervision and guidance of the Department of Archaeology, with generous financial contributions from Na Uyana Aranya Senasanaya.
Local and international well-wishers continue to contribute their labour, funds, and time towards the reconstruction of this sacred dagoba. The Department of Archaeology extends its respectful appreciation to all donors and supporters for their invaluable assistance.
