A truly inspiring and productive visit to Andhra Pradesh.
I had the privilege of meeting Shri Chiranjiv Choudary, I.F.S., Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Government of Andhra Pradesh, along with senior leadership from the Andhra Pradesh investment ecosystem. Our discussions focused on fostering strategic collaborations, attracting new investments from across India and global markets, and creating long-term economic impact aligned with the visionary leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu Garu.
One of the most encouraging moments was hearing about the capacity-building and governance leadership initiatives being conducted for selected senior Sri Lankan government officials. It was also heartening to hear the Secretary share his family's recent experience in Sri Lanka. Their visit, initially planned for a short stay, was extended because of the warmth of our people, the exceptional hospitality, and the outstanding quality of Sri Lankan cuisine and services.
Moments like these remind us that sometimes we only fully appreciate our strengths when they are recognized beyond our borders. Sri Lanka's tourism and hospitality sectors continue to leave a lasting impression on international visitors, and we should all take pride in that achievement.
I am also delighted to share that our discussions have now moved into focused implementation. Significant progress is underway for the launch of a sustainable brand initiative in Andhra Pradesh, alongside the introduction of a new FMCG partnership scheduled for July and August. This initiative will bring over 100 years of brand heritage, consumer trust, and confidence to the people of Andhra Pradesh while creating new opportunities for growth, employment, and regional development.
This is only the beginning. Stronger collaboration between Sri Lanka and Andhra Pradesh can unlock investment, innovation, tourism, trade, and sustainable economic growth for both regions.
Excited about the impact that lies ahead.
