"A Milestone in Professional Excellence: Certificate Awarding Ceremony for HNB Assurance PLC and HNB General Insurance Ltd"

We proudly hosted the Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the Management Development Programme conducted by the Management Consultancy Unit, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo for executives of HNB Assurance PLC and HNB General Insurance Ltd (HNBA/HNBGI) on 15th October 2024 at Professor Jayarathne Conference Hall at the Faculty of Management and Finance. The event celebrated the accomplishments of dedicated professionals, with esteemed guests gracing the occasion. The ceremony commenced with a welcome speech by Dean Professor Nihal Hennayake, followed by a thought-provoking address from Senior Professor (Chair) H.D. Karunaratne, Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo.

Mr. Sithumina Jayasundara, CEO of HNB General Insurance Ltd, and Mr. Navin Rupasinghe, Head of HR at HNB Assurance PLC, shared valuable insights, inspiring the audience with their words on leadership and professional development by recognizing the hard work and achievements of the programme participants.

🎓 On July 8th, we celebrated the Inauguration Ceremony for the DIPLOMA IN PROFESSIONAL AND BUSINESS SKILLS 2024/2025 designed for HNB Assurance PLC at the Professor Jayarathne Conference Hall, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo.

We were honored to have Senior Professor (Chair) H.D. Karunaratne, Vice Chancellor, University of Colombo, as the chief guest of this remarkable event. Mr. Lasitha Wimalarathne, Chief Executive Officer, HNB Assurance Plc, and the team of his management took part in this event. The keynote speech was delivered by Dr. Dinesh Hamangoda, General Manager, Hemas Manufacturing (Pvt) Ltd. (Hemas Consumer Brands).

The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the Management Development Program conducted by the Management Consultancy Unit of the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, was successfully held on 12th December 2022 at Prof. Jayarathne auditorium of the Faculty of Management and Finance. Program participants from HNB General Insurance Limited, HNB Assurance PLC and the General Management Development Program participants were awarded certificates in this ceremony. The Dean of the Faculty of Management and Finance welcomed participants. The keynote speech was delivered by Ms. Randula de Silva, founder/CEO, Good Life X Private Limited followed by the addressing of Senior Professor H. D Karunaratne. Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo.

Management Consultancy Unit of the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo signed a Memorandum of understanding (MOU) with HNB Assurance and HNB General Insurance on 10th October 2022 to train their executives under Management Development Program conducted by the Management Consultancy Unit, FMF. The event was graced by Senior Professor H. D Karunarathne (Vice-chancellor of the University of Colombo), Professor Pradeep Dharmadasa (the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Finance), Dr. Sajitha Dishanka (Coordinator of the Management Consultancy Unit, Faculty of Management and Finance), Mr. Lasitha Wimalaratne (Chief Executive Officer – HNB Assurance PLC), Mr. Sithumina Jayasundara (Chief Executive Officer – HNB General Insurance Ltd), and other members of Management Consultancy Unit and HNB management.
