Bernadina Micro Investment Company (Pvt) Ltd. trained 23 potential Female Entrepreneurs from Batticaloa
An IYB Training Seminar (Record Keeping Module) was organized and held by the Valachchenai Branch of the Berendina Micro Investment Company (Pvt) Ltd. on November 26, 2025, at the Branch's Training Hall in Valaichenai, Batticaloa, in the Eastern Province. Mr. L. Kamalanathan (Human Resource Development Officer, Divisional Secretariat, Manmunai West, Batticaloa) served as the lead SIYB Trainer, while Mr. N. Sivanathan (Skills Development Officer, Divisional Secretariat, Manmunai West, Batticaloa) co-facilitated this IYB Training Seminar. Twenty-three female entrepreneurs from Batticaloa attended this seminar.

Rasnayakapura Divisional Secretariat Trained 15 VT Youths on SYB

A SYB Training Seminar was organized and conducted by the Rasnayakapura Divisional Secretariat, Rasnayakapura, Nikaweratiya, Kurunegala District, from December 16 to 20, 2025, at the Auditorium of the Rasnayakapura Divisional Secretariat. This SYB program was fully funded by the World Food Program’s ADAPT4R Project. This SYB Program was the follow up to the GYB Program conducted at the beginning of December under the comprehensive SIYB Intervention designed by Mr. W. M. S. B. Wasala, the SIYB Trainer attached to the Divisional Secretariat as a Skills Development Officer, who has orchestrated a special program for the unemployed youth of this DS Division, offering a vocational training program on the maintenance and repair of agricultural implements and offering tools worth of Rs. 100,000 per participant to start their own enterprise. Mr. R. H. J. Rajakaruna, SIYB Master Trainer, served as the Lead SIYB Trainer. At the same time, Mr. Wasala, Skills Development Officer at the Divisional Secretariat, Rasnayakapura, and Mr. Priyadharshana Herath, Human Resource Development Officer, District Secretariat, Puttalam, co-facilitated this SYB Training Seminar. A total of 15 boys from the Rasnayakapura Divisional Secretariat Division attended all five days of the seminar.

Department of Industries trained 14 Potential Entrepreneurs from Jaffna.

A SYB Training Seminar was organized and conducted by the Department of Industries, Northern Province, from December 16 to 20, 2025, at the Conference Hall, Divisional Secretariat, Kopay. This SYB Training Seminar was fully funded by the Department of Industries, Northern Province, to strengthen entrepreneurs under the Provincial Specific Development Grant (PSDG) Scheme. Mrs. Vasuki Arivalagan (Development Officer, Department of Industries, Divisional Secretariat, Vali East, Kopay) served as the Lead SIYB Trainer. At the same time, Mr. P Raghavan (Industrial Promotion Officer, Department of Industries, Northern Province) assisted as the co-trainer. A total of fourteen potential entrepreneurs from the Kopay Division attended all five days of this SYB Training Seminar.

Department of Industries trained 20 Potential Entrepreneurs from Kayts, Jaffna.

A GYB Training Seminar was organized and conducted by the Department of Industries, Northern Province, from December 17 to 19, 2025, at the Community Hall of the Karampon East Women's Rural Development Society, Kayts, Jaffna. This GYB Training Seminar was fully funded by the Department of Industries, Northern Province, to strengthen entrepreneurs under the Provincial Specific Development Grant (PSDG) Scheme. While Mr. Jeyabalan Satheechan (Development Officer, Divisional Secretariat, Vali East, Kopay) served as the Lead SIYB Trainer, Mrs. M. Neethimathy (Human Resource Development Officer, Divisional Secretariat, Karainagar) co-facilitated the seminar. This GYB was targeted at individuals who were eagerly preparing themselves to generate their business ideas, from Naranthanai South Modern Village, Kayts Division. Twenty participants attended all three days of this GYB Training Seminar.

Rasnayakapura Divisional Secretariat Trained 15 VT Youths on GYB
A GYB Training Seminar was organized and conducted by the Rasnayakapura Divisional Secretariat, Rasnayakapura, Nikaweratiya, Kurunegala District, on December 04, 05 & 06, 2025, at the Auditorium of the Rasnayakapura Divisional Secretariat. This GYB Program was very unique since it was conducted while the Divisional Secretariat was coordinating relief operations for the Ditwah Cyclone victims. This GYB program was fully funded by the World Food Program’s ADAPT4R Project. A comprehensive SIYB Intervention has been designed by Mr. W. M. S. B. Wasala, the SIYB Trainer attached to the Divisional Secretariat as a Skills Development Officer, who has orchestrated a special program for the unemployed youth of this DS Division, offering a vocational training program on the maintenance and repair of agricultural implements. Mr. R. H. J. Rajakaruna, SIYB Master Trainer, served as the Lead SIYB Trainer. At the same time, Mr. Wasala, Skills Development Officer at the Divisional Secretariat, Rasnayakapura, co-facilitated this GYB Training Seminar. A GYB Training Seminar was organized and conducted by the Department of Industries, Northern Province, on December 16, 17 & 18, 2025, at the Kallundai Community Centre, Sandilipay Division. This GYB program was fully funded by the Department of Industries, Northern Province, to strengthen entrepreneurs under the Provincial Specific Development Grant (PSDG) Scheme. Mr. Sukinthan, Development Officer at the District Office, Jaffna, served as the Lead SIYB Trainer, while Mrs. K. Thusiyanthy, Development Officer at the Divisional Secretariat, Uduvil, co-facilitated this GYB Training Seminar. A total of ten participants from the Model Village Development Scheme from Sandilipay, Jaffna, attended all three days of the seminar.

An IYB Training Seminar was organized and conducted by the Department of Industries, Northern Province, from December 08 to 15, 2025, at the Divisional Secretariat Hall, Kopay. This IYB Training Seminar was fully funded by the Department of Industries, Northern Province, to strengthen entrepreneurs under the Provincial Specific Development Grant (PSDG) Scheme. Mrs. Vasuki Arivalagan (Development Officer, Department of Industries, Divisional Secretariat, Vali East, Kopay) facilitated as the Lead SIYB Trainer, and Mr. G. Gnanasambanthan (Development Officer, Governor's Office, Northern Province) co-facilitated this IYB Training Seminar. Altogether, nineteen entrepreneurs from the Kopay Division attended all five days of this IYB Training Seminar.

An SYB Training Seminar was organized and conducted by the Department of Industries, Northern Province, from December 03 to 07, 2025, at the Bharathy Community Centre Hall, Manippay. This SYB Training Seminar was fully funded by the Department of Industries, Northern Province, to strengthen entrepreneurs under the Provincial Specific Development Grant (PSDG) Scheme. While Mr. K. Sukinthan (Development Officer, District Secretariat, Jaffna) facilitated as the Lead SIYB Trainer, Mrs. K. Thusiyanthy (Development Officer, Divisional Secretariat, Uduvil) co-facilitated the seminar. A total of seventeen female participants, who were from the Sandilipay Division and were hoping to start their businesses, attended all five days of this SYB Training Seminar.

This SYB Training Seminar was fully funded by the Department of Industries, Northern Province, to strengthen entrepreneurs under the Provincial Specific Development Grant (PSDG) Scheme. While Ms. Sivappirya (HRDO, District Secretariat, Jaffna) facilitated as the Lead SIYB Trainer, Mr. Liston Rajanikanth (HRDO District Secretariat, Jaffna) co-facilitated the seminar. A total of eighteen female participants, who were from the Nallur Division and were hoping to start their businesses, attended all five days of this SYB Training Seminar.
