Ayubowan.. Greetings!
For those of you who don't know me, I'm Lakshika. The founder, researcher and artist behind Tikiri & Co.
This is my full time gig and everything apart from public performances for kids (where my sweet friend Sahan has stepped in), I do on my own. First for my own selfish joy and passion to dig deep into most things Sri Lankan, educating myself... and secondly for anyone else who might enjoy it- local or foreign. It's been almost 5 years since I started and i'm thankful to all of you who find the things I do interesting and for following the account/s.
My latest story, drawing parallels between the Nutcracker ballet characters with it's music Vs the origin story of the Sri Lankan legend of Mahasona, I had to stop half way due to the catastrophic Ditwa cyclone and its affect on Sri Lanka and personally on myself flooding my home and turning lives upside down. Although Sri Lanka haven't completely recovered from it I owe it to the kind followers who came on board lending their voices reading excerpts unveiling the story part by part... so please stay tuned for the continuation.
PS: As someone who works ahead of (my own self inflicted deadlines) everything was shot/recorded and scheduled for automatic posting (as the voice artists would know), i didn't feel it was right to proceed with what was happening... but maybe it's time for some 'pretend-normalcy' now.
