Great news for skilled migration applicants! Tasmania Releases 2026–27 Skilled Migration Allocation! 🇦🇺

The Tasmanian Government has officially received 2,050 state nomination places for the 2026–27 program year:

* 1,250 – Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)
* 800 – Skilled Work Regional Visa (Subclass 491)

📢 Tasmania has also confirmed that the Skilled Migration Program will reopen soon, with updated eligibility requirements to be announced in the coming weeks.

This is a strong indication that other Australian states and territories may announce their nomination allocations shortly.

🇦🇺 Australia Study Update | 2027 Student Places Announced

The Australian Government has released key updates for the 2027 National Planning Level (NPL), creating greater clarity for international students planning their higher education journey.

Here's what you need to know:

🎓 Public Universities
✅ 161,725 student places available
✅ 2027 allocations remain unchanged from 2026
✅ Public university VET programs are exempt from the National Planning Level (NPL)

🏛️ Other Higher Education Providers (OHEPs)
✅ 38,500 student places
✅ Minimum allocation of 50 NOSCs per provider
✅ No active provider will receive fewer places than in 2026
✅ Additional allocations may be granted based on 2025 enrolment activity

🔧 VET Providers
✅ 92,275 student places
✅ Large providers to receive approximately 3.5% growth
✅ Continued support for smaller providers through a dedicated allocation pool

📌 Around 2,500 higher education places are still to be allocated.

These updates provide more confidence for students planning to study in Australia in upcoming intakes.

🇦🇺 Australian Migration Program Update 2025–26

The Australian Government has allocated 185,000 places under the permanent Migration Program, with approximately 55,110 places available for offshore applicants.

Some key changes include:

✅ Subclass 189 Skilled Independent Visa – Increased by 4,190 places
✅ Subclass 190 State Nominated Visa – Increased by 2,500 places
✅ Subclass 186 Employer Nomination Scheme – Increased by 14,400 places

The Government continues to prioritise occupations in key demand sectors, including:

🔹 Healthcare
🔹 Information Technology (IT)
🔹 Engineering
🔹 Science
🔹 Construction
🔹 Education

These updates may create additional opportunities for skilled migrants both onshore and offshore.
