Before becoming a business owner, Mr. Va Koemsan worked as an employee, earning a fixed income to support his family's daily expenses. Driven by a desire to boost his family’s revenue, he eventually decided to change direction and venture into entrepreneurship. Today, he manages multiple businesses, including buying and selling cattle, running a coffee shop, and operating a grocery store. Located in Thlok Vien Village, Thlok Vien Commune, Samaki Meanchey District, Kampong Chhnang Province, these enterprises have successfully helped him achieve a far more stable income and a better standard of living.

Mr. Koemsan shared that he first learned about LOLC Cambodia through his parents, who are also long-time clients of the institution. Across four successful loan cycles, he has been able to continuously expand his operations and elevate his family's quality of life.

Breaking down his growth journey, Mr. Koemsan revealed that he utilized his first loan of USD 7,000 in 2017 to purchase cattle for resale and to fund initial home improvements. In 2019, he secured a second loan of USD 12,000 to strengthen his cattle trading business, further renovate his house, and purchase a motorcycle to streamline his daily transportation. Seeking greater growth, he used a third loan of USD 20,000 in 2023 to inject fresh capital into his core business while investing in land as a long-term asset. Most recently, in 2025, he leveraged a fourth loan of USD 27,000 to launch both his small coffee shop and grocery store, while continuing to back his existing businesses with more capital.

Through the responsible use of financial services and an unrelenting drive to expand his reach, Mr. Va Koemsan has successfully transformed his life from a fixed-wage worker into a versatile business owner with multiple income streams. This remarkable shift has granted him the financial stability needed to seamlessly manage his businesses, cover household expenses, and fully invest in his child’s education.
