This picture shows a purported experiment being conducted in Russia to see if giving dairy cows modified VR headsets can reduce anxiety and increase milk yield. This experiment is being conducted by “Milknews.ru,” a news site for the Russian dairy industry, hence it’s not at all clear whether this is a genuine trial or an elaborate marketing stunt.

Loon LLC, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., which uses high-altitude balloons to provide Internet access to rural and remote areas, has signed a new commercial agreement with Internet Para Todos (Perú) to provide mobile internet connectivity from Telefónica to parts of the Amazon rainforest in Peru starting in 2020.

Its internet balloons will service an area with nearly 200,000 people

A team of MIT engineers have created a solution for robotics' "last foot problem:", where they can squeeze into tight spaces by using soft robotic materials, but are usually not sturdy enough to be fitted with tools like sensors, grippers and cameras. Instead of designing a soft robot, they made a flexible one inspired by growing plants; made of rigid material, with appendages like bicycle chains, capable of carrying heavy loads, allowing it to twist and turn into whatever configuration is needed to reach its objective.

An MIT team of engineers created a robot that can squeeze into tight spaces while carrying heavy tools.

Microsoft and SRL Diagnostics have developed an AI tool that helps detect cervical cancer, freeing doctors in India and other countries where the sheer volume of patients could prove overwhelming.

It might just be crucial to overloaded doctors in India.

MIT's Mini Cheetah robots aren't just solitary creatures, the school's Biomimetics department showcased the remote-controlled machines back-flipping out of leaf piles, kicking soccer balls and having friendly tussles. MIT is building a fleet to lend out examples for research projects to help lead them to perform hazardous work such as search-and-rescue and other efforts that might just save human lives.

Backflips, soccer and creepy dances are part of the fun.

Microsoft’s HoloLens 2 mixed reality headset, priced at $3,500 is shipping today after being announced earlier this year. The HoloLens 2 which is an upgraded version of the device first released in 2016, featuring a wider field of view and more complex gesture controls, will be delivered to preorder customers in around a half-dozen countries.

NVIDIA announced that it will provide USPS, the US Postal Service (USPS), with its AI tech to help process package data more efficiently. NVIDIA claims its system will process package data 10-times faster and with higher accuracy, by using high-performance servers powered by NVIDIA V100 Tensor Core GPUs and deep learning software.

The US Postal Service will use AI to process package data 10-times faster.

Adobe officially debuted Adobe Aero as part of Adobe Creative Cloud at the Adobe MAX. Aero is a tool allowing designers to build and share immersive experiences in AR—without any coding skills. MIT's CSAIL (Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Laboratory) has come up with a dice-like M-Block robots, which can spin, flip and identify each other using barcodes. Each block contains a flywheel inside spinning at 20,000 rpm, along with permanent magnets on each edge and face allowing them to leap, crawl and spin along using angular momentum, then clip onto other M-Block's magnetically.

MIT's M-blocks don't look like robots, but they can jump, flip and self-assemble.
