Starting-up in Sri Lanka
The term “start-up” has been the talk of the town of the millennials living not only in Sri Lanka but also across the universe. Today, when you ask a business student in Sri Lanka if what they want to be once they graduate, at least five out of ten of them will say they want to start their own venture. Nevertheless, the larger majority of the of them who wished to start their own venture will get into an elite corporate in the country after university education due to lack of access to finance, securing the status quo (public generally thinks educated individuals should work as professionals), lack of a convincing business concept and etc…
Though “starting-up” has been an intimidating task for majority of the individuals who are stuck in the corporates, it never means non in our country has succefully achieved the uphill task of being champion entrepreneurs. To name few,

3. Researching untapped markets in our country and educating the readers about the same.
4. Assist the entrepreneurs in preparing business plans.
5. Act as a coordinator between start-up’s and angel investors/venture capitalists.
6. Advising on issues faced by start-ups and SME’s.
