Getting rejected from a job does not always mean you lack the required skills or experience. Sometimes, the problem is how your experience is presented on your CV.
Before applying for any position, read the job description carefully. Identify the specific skills, responsibilities, qualifications, software, technologies, and experience the employer is looking for. Then compare those requirements with your CV.
Make sure your previous job responsibilities are clearly explained. Do not simply write generic statements such as “handled customers” or “worked with a team.” Explain what you actually did, what systems or tools you used, what level of responsibility you had, and what results you achieved. Use relevant industry terminology where it accurately reflects your experience.
Keep your CV ATS-friendly. Use clear headings, simple formatting, readable fonts, and standard sections such as Professional Summary, Work Experience, Education, Skills, and Certifications. Avoid unnecessary graphics, complicated tables, excessive design elements, and information that does not support the position you are applying for.
Most importantly, do not use the exact same CV for every vacancy. Adjust it based on the job description while keeping everything truthful.
At Formix, advising candidates is part of our responsibility. As an industry builder, we want professionals to understand recruitment processes and present their experience in a way that accurately represents their capabilities.
Your CV is not just a document. It is the first explanation of your professional experience.
