🌍 Asian Youth Regional Consultations!

As part of the journey toward the Santa Marta Conference (28–29 April 2026, Colombia), young voices across Asia are coming together to co-create a powerful Global Youth Statement for a fossil-free future.

It was truly inspiring to be part of this regional consultation, engaging with passionate young leaders committed to climate action. I had the opportunity to contribute my perspectives under climate finance—an area that remains critical in ensuring an equitable and just transition.

During the discussions, Syndicate Spark Surge emphasized the urgent need for: ⚡ Increased accessibility to climate finance for grassroots and youth-led initiatives
⚡ Transparent and accountable funding mechanisms
⚡ Stronger support for communities most vulnerable to climate impacts
⚡ Inclusive decision-making that places youth at the center of financial solutions
These conversations are more than dialogue—they are shaping the demands and visions that will be carried forward to the global stage.

Grateful to be part of a movement that is not only imagining a fossil-free future but actively building pathways to achieve it. 🌱

Former Klang MP Charles Santiago called on Malaysia to set a more ambitious renewable energy (RE) goal of at least 50 per cent by 2030, arguing that the current national target of 35 per cent is insufficient and leaves the nation vulnerable to global energy shocks

The key outcome of Southeast Asia - South Asia Preparatory Meeting was to Plan a joint South Asia - Southeast Asia Event at COP 31 and other Political and Campaign engagement 2026 to promote the civil society statement

Day 2 | Strengthening Regional Alignment for COP31

Day 2 of the Southeast Asia–South Asia Preparatory Meeting focused on turning dialogue into direction.

Through collaborative breakout sessions and collective discussions, we worked towards building common regional positions on key priorities — Adaptation, Loss & Damage, Climate Finance, and Just Transition.

A major highlight was the effort to shape a shared Southeast Asia–South Asia agenda, ensuring that regional voices are aligned, strategic, and impactful in the lead-up to COP31 and the Santa Marta Conference.

These conversations are a reminder that real progress comes from collaboration, trust, and a shared vision for climate justice.

Looking forward to translating these discussions into meaningful action.
