Sri Lanka, being a popular travel destination, country is also popular for foreign residents to come and live in this beautiful tropical island with vivid climates and lot of smiling people. One Australian expat Steve from Victoria, working in Sri Lanka for one year government forestry project, sees Sri Lankans as the friendliest people among the countries he travelled over the world. The government supports foreign retired people to come and spend their rest of lives on a retirement visa with access to local health care and other facilities. Tourism is one of the biggest booming industry in Sri Lanka. Land prices near the beaches, even a km away from the beach are sky rocketing along the southern and east coastal line, thus building of small boutique hotels, villas, apartments and guest houses towards more inland away from the beaches but close to a lagoon, wetland, lake, or a serenity in a beautiful view is getting popular among many locals and foreigners. Subside business along with tourism such as Ayurveda treatment, herbal medicines, are also booming. Beauty care and therapy, gymnasium, nutritional supplements, healthy restaurants, floriculture, fruit and vege exports are going to be the next level popular investments. With weaker controls for hygiene at local restaurants, new or existing restaurants can gain the benefit over rivalries with a touch of hygiene aspect. Many locals are consumes only generic white bread, and bakeries do not try new inventions of healthy bread, and Sri Lanka is lacking European bread bakers at least to serve its medium class population. If think smartly attitude can be change with a bit of investment.
