Today, on International Women's Day, DCSL Breweries Lanka Limited celebrated the incredible power and potential of its women.

Attended by its Head Office and Brewery employees, the day’s proceedings kicked off with an informative session on Breast Cancer Awareness by Dr. Sasanka Jayawickrama, Medical Officer at Melsta Hospitals. Reiterating that ‘prevention is better than cure,’ Dr. Sasanka emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and ensuring that women’s health and well-being are prioritized.

Finance Director of DCSL Breweries Lanka, Samanthi Kariyawasam also shed light on the reality of female labour participation in Sri Lanka while touching on the UN’s worldwide call to action, 'Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress,' and its necessity to accelerate economic growth and build more prosperous, equitable societies.

DCSL Breweries Lanka Limited is pleased to announce the successful acquisition, finalised on January 10th, 2024, of HEINEKEN Lanka Ltd., thereby establishing it as a fully owned subsidiary of DCSL Group.

Under its new identity as DCSL Breweries Lanka Limited, this pivotal development represents a significant milestone in DCSL’s expansion strategy reinforcing its stature as a prominent entity within the beverage industry.

As part of our Brew a Better World 🌍 agenda, HEINEKEN Lanka hosted the enthusiastic final-year management students and lecturers from SLITHM (Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management) at our Brewery for an enlightening session on responsible consumption. The session was conducted by Sean Henricus, Senior Manager - Corporate Affairs 🌱

HEINEKEN's 2030 Brew a Better World programme aims to create a positive impact on the environment, social sustainability, and responsible alcohol consumption. HEINEKEN's responsible consumption pillar, embedded within the Brew a Better World strategy, highlights the importance of addressing the harmful use of alcohol and cultivating a culture of moderation.

Engaging hotel management students in discussions on this topic is essential, as they will play a crucial role in shaping responsible drinking habits, serving as ambassadors who guide consumers towards informed and moderate alcohol consumption choices.
