Through a three-year partnership with the National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA) and the Project Management Unit of the Ministry of Irrigation, funded by the Green Climate Fund, Good Life X is designing a structured incubation and accelerator model to support climate-resilient, indigenous enterprise development.

Together, we're building pathways for indigenous innovation, green job creation, and climate resilience; supporting enterprises that create lasting value for both people and place.

Perhaps the future doesn’t need to be borrowed. Perhaps it can be rooted, grown, and designed from within ✨

‘Local by Design: Imagining Sri Lanka’s Future’, our World Localisation Day celebration, brought together a diverse group of changemakers, creatives, and curious minds to explore what a rooted future could look like across Sri Lanka's regions.

The conversations challenged the idea that progress must follow a universal template. Instead, they encouraged participants to look closer at what Sri Lanka already has: the knowledge, resources, traditions, and people that could help shape futures that are not only relevant to our context but deeply connected to it.

💭 What if localisation isn’t simply a trend, but a necessity for our future?
💡 What if Sri Lanka already has many of the tools it needs, and what’s missing is more people willing to push for change?

As the Hyacinthesis Accelerator progresses through its journey, Cohort 1 has been steadily building the knowledge, skills, and connections needed to transform the challenges posed by invasive water hyacinth into opportunities for sustainable enterprise 🌱

We recently brought our community together for a special documentary screening of 'Harnessing the Power of Water Hyacinth: A Sri Lankan Story', produced by the Lanka Environment Fund. The documentary captured the scale of the invasive water hyacinth challenge in the Sri Lankan context while introducing the premise and scope of the Hyacinthesis project and what lies ahead.

The event continued with a talk by Dr. Ananda Mallawatantri on the policy component of the Hyacinthesis Accelerator, followed by an overview of the programme and a progress update from Programme Lead Lonali Rodrigo. It was also an opportunity for our cohort, partners, and guests to mingle, exchange ideas, and build new connections around a shared vision for a more circular and sustainable future.

As we move forward, we look forward to continuing to learn, connect, and grow alongside our Hyacinthesis community ✨️
