🎓 Certificate Awarding Ceremony – Advanced Certificate Course in Business Start-Up and Development (2nd Batch)

The Central Business Incubator (CBI) of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, successfully held the Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the Advanced Certificate Course in Business Start-Up and Development – 2nd Batch on 28th February 2026 at the Faculty Boardroom.

The event celebrated the dedication and achievements of the participants who successfully completed the programme, marking an important milestone in their entrepreneurial journey.

We congratulate all certificate recipients and wish them continued success in their future entrepreneurial endeavors.

🚀 Launching Batch 2 with Purpose!

The inauguration ceremony of Batch 2 of the Advanced Certificate Course in Business Start-Up and Development was successfully held on May 4th, 2025 at the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya.

The Central Business Incubator (CBI), of the University of Kelaniya has organized a coaching seminar series called “Athwala” for the undergraduates of university of Kelaniya aligned with the objectives of CBI. The second coaching session was successfully conducted by the National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA) on 20th March 2025. The title of the session was “The Role of NEDA in nurturing Entrepreneurial Culture among Youth in Sri Lanka”. The resource person of the session was Mr. Dhanuka Liyanagamage, Director of NEDA. This seminar mainly focused on the importance of developing an entrepreneurial culture among the educated youth and the special facilities and programs provided by NEDA to empower young entrepreneurs. The program serves as a platform for developing entrepreneurial mindset and culture among the undergraduates.

The first coaching session was successfully conducted by the Industrial Development Board (IDB) on 04th March 2025. The title of the session was “The Role of IDB in nurturing Young Entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka”. The resource person of the session was Mr. Saminda Ranathungage, Additional Director, Entrepreneurship Development Division of IDB. Mr. Githmi Rathnaweera, Business Development Officer at IDB also participated. This seminar mainly focused on the importance of entrepreneurship to overcome the crisis and facilities provided by IDB to empower start-ups. The program serves as a platform for developing entrepreneurial mindset, networking and enhancing entrepreneurial skills.
